A devotional perspective on life. The City Needs Light & Life. The Paradox of Christian Productivity. July 5, 2011. We think we have to. More God says,. 8220;Ask, and it shall be given.” (Matt. 7:7). Our world tells us that the one who works harder than the next guy wins. God says,. 8220;Call Unto me, and I will answer thee.” (Jer. 33:3). The powers of evil give us more opportunities to stay busy. God says,. 8220;Be still, and know that I am God.” (Ps. 46:10). One reason… They prayed. In answer to prayer.

musings of a bean: Is so much whining normal?
http://seriousbean.blogspot.com/2012/11/is-so-much-whining-normal.html
Musings of a bean. Friday, November 30, 2012. Is so much whining normal? Often in this house it feels like all I'm listening to is a constant stream of toddler whines. Sure, there are happy moments and times of laughter, but those fussy, whiney cries of discontent can so quickly drown out all the happy noises. It's exhausting. Can't we communicate and instruct our children without barking orders all day long? Does any of this make sense? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
musings of a bean: February 2014
http://seriousbean.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Musings of a bean. Friday, February 21, 2014. Roscoe, there is nothing about you that isn't strong willed or passionate or determined. And sometimes (even though you are just a three-year-old), that is just the recipe for a brokenhearted mama. I want so desperately to point you to Christ, but I feel like every day I am a failure. I love you, Roscoe. I pray you know this. I pray that despite my shortcomings as a mom, as a human, that you know my deep and undying love for you, my boy, the one I lon...It hu...

Musings of a bean. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Catch up and announcement. It's been so long since I've updated because I don't know how to blog without including a big part of what's going on in my life. I guess if I'm going to write about my life here, and I've got something I'm not ready to share yet, it's hard to write anything at all. So with that said, if you don't know this already, baby #2 is on the way! Are we wanting a girl? Roscoe is being my little sweetheart these days. I often get a few vi...
musings of a bean: April 2012
http://seriousbean.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Musings of a bean. Sunday, April 22, 2012. Mark just called me about an hour ago to let me know he was driving home. Rarely does he get to start his 10 hour drive home before noon, and most commonly it's about 2 or 3 pm. What a nice surprise! The only problem is I thought I had all day to get the house cleaned to my "Mark's-homecoming-specifications." In reality I have about 3.5 hours. Good thing we have a less than 900 sq ft home! Friday, April 20, 2012. Things I love about right now.this moment. Once I...

Blog site for Jamal Jivanjee. Church Member Mentioned In David Platt’s Book ‘Radical’ Responds To My Review Of ‘Radical’. Posted on May 20, 2011. Without further delay, here is their response. Their statement speaks for itself:. Thanks for posting this review. It is difficult (I think) to find such an honest statement about David Platt’s book amid all the adulation that surrounds him. What I didn’t know, until recently, is how exhausting and discouraging it is to try to obey Christ on my own. But jus...
musings of a bean: March 2012
http://seriousbean.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Musings of a bean. Monday, March 26, 2012. For the love of reading. I don't just read a book. I become a character in the book. So as I journey through the pages, I'm feeling what the characters feel, thinking what they think, experiencing what they experience. There's just something about them that affect me deeply. To be honest, I sometimes have a difficult time coping with reality in the hours/ days after finishing a good read. Does anyone else feel the same way about reading? Friday, March 23, 2012.
musings of a bean: August 2013
http://seriousbean.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Musings of a bean. Sunday, August 11, 2013. When imagination and reality disagree. Now I tend to 2 children and attempt to make coming home a desirable thing for my husband. And sometimes I feel that a successful day is being able to say I got the laundry from the washer to the dryer before the mildew sets in. That's about 10th in the list of things I feel the need or desire to get around to. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. When imagination and reality disagree. Follow me by Email.

Mark J. Martin
Mark J. Martin. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Plan to Put Him First. 2010 has passed like a lightning bolt, and 2011 is moving forward quickly and picking up steam. Soon, we'll be saying the same thing about 2011 and 2012. This kind of year doesn't happen accidentally. Time has to be planned. Time for priorities has to be protected. You will have to say, "No," to some worthy things, but by doing that you will be affording yourself the opportunity to say, "Yes," to the most important things. 1 The necessity...
