Maroc, je t'aime.: May 2009
http://nicoleinmorocco.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Maroc, je t'aime. Tales of life and service in the Moroccan countryside. I was never much for rollercoasters, but. This week has been an emotional one. The volunteer I replaced left on Monday, and things went downhill briefly after that. My hostmom doesn't handle stress in constructive ways, and I took an emotional blow that afternoon, when she voiced her opinion that I will not, ever, understand Tashlheit. That was, far and away, my lowest point in country thus far. Speaking of, in the middle writing th...

9/8/10 English is my native tongue. I mean my mother tongue. I mean . wait . my first language? Why does that not surprise me? I typed in a quick message to a friend. And then I looked at it. I didn't know what, quite, but definitely something. I said it again, in my head. I shook it off and tried to regenerate the sentiment. Why am I not surprised? Floated into my head. I erased my first fumble and wrote in the correct American idiom. You know, I worked really hard not to lose my English. No Yes. No.

India Part 3. Goa. Listening to: Royksopp The Understanding. This will likely be the shortest post on India, as I only spent 3 days in Goa. Delhi was a huge, busy, packed, polluted place. The plan was for my two friends and I to travel south to the tropical beaches of Goa. SO we met up at the Delhi Airport, and hopped a 3 hour flight to the province of Goa. When we arrived, we were going to meet up with another friend. The place we had decided to go to was a beach called Palolam. Next up I will talk abou...

Sean Shiel in Morocco. Echoes from a distant land. Check out my food blog! Click here: "Cooking in the Bled". 26 March, 2009. Our trip to the next town. I’m not being facetious. We were seeing this town through the eyes or our local host country sisters, and they were seeing it through our eyes. Suddenly this town really was full of intrigue and wonder. I like the Moroccan circus. 22 March, 2009. Nkshrt irbbi, mamnk a tgit? So now we have to get back home. Where was the taxi stand again? 15 March, 2009.
