Home to the Chicago Wolves and some of the best team names in sports I've ever seen. (Go Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights! You rock, Lowell Lock Monsters! Or there's the United States Hockey League. Berwynist: November 2005
http://berwynist.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 12, 2005. Lack of time and enthusiasm are a couple of the reasons to call it quits. Relevance, or lack thereof, is another: there's a vibrant and engaged, if occasionally contentious, crowd talking regularly and in-depth about issues of local concern on Berwyn's Community Forum. http://berwynist.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 08, 2005. M is for Media Merger. There's an old saw in the newspaper business: "Freedom of the press belongs to the person who owns one." Which is why it's always nice to know who runs the rag you pick up in the morning. The Washington Times. For example, is run, somewhat notoriously, by the Unification Church. Which is headed by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon; last summer Reverend Moon saw fit to declare himself the Messiah. The Contra Costa Times. Which puts out the Berwyn-Cicero Life.

Wednesday, September 28, 2005. Follows the lead of the Chicago Tribune. Today with a story of its own. About the mural that Jeff Zimmerman is painting at Cermak Plaza Shopping Center. (Note to the editors at the Life. Some aldermen expressed concerns about traffic congestion on Harlem Avenue near the mural by gawkers, while others thought the design did not represent the city. In a time when the city doesn't know much about its finances except that its financial situation is bad. I'd like to float the no...
