England
Today is the last day of our London trip. We have been here for 4 nights so pretty quick. It's my first time and Mel's second. She came here for her work visa a few years back but I've never really had a urge to come here. That was until I got here. We're off to Morocco tomorrow so it's time to pack our bags. Cologne was an unusual destination for us. Niether of us really ever wanted to go here and we didn't really know that much about it let alone the sights it had. The reason we picked it was because it seemed like the easiest place to do a Rhine River cruise from which is what we were after. On our last day we got up at the crack of dawn and caught the train down to the small town of Koblenz where our boat would departfor our Rhine River cruise. Taking us down the river was the Grand Old Dame Paddleste...

Italy
Where do I start with Florence. I had been wanting to go to Florence for sometime. Ever since I saw a documentary on the Medici Florence seemed to be the one Italy city that had everything for me. That afternoon we checked out the famous Duomo and the remarkable roof by bruneschelli. It was extremely hot in Florence during our stay with the temp generally up around 40*C, but we decided to climb to the top anyway. After 30 minues, 417 steps and a whole load of sweat we made it. The view is one...The next ...

Wednesday, July 16, 2008. After deciding we had too many nights booked in Munich we decided to cut one night off and head somewhere else. As we were going to every other major town close to Munich we made the weird decision to head to Bratislava for one night. I don't know if I could spend any more than a day or two i Bratislava but I think it is definately worth that at a minimum. Posted by Vancouver, Canada. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Bali is one of those places that I thought had been done too many times by every single Australian. I never really had an urge to visit Bali and couldn't see it on my list in the distant future. But it's amazing how a free trip can change your mind. We all met outside and made our way through Kuta by private coach to Seminyak. We were staying at the Sofitel Seminyak. By the time we got out it was about 7.00pm and we were two hours late for our pre-arranged final meal. We both realised this looked...That ...

China
China was a last minute holiday for my girlfriend (Melinda) and I. We had been told by work that we needed to take some holidays as soon as possibly but the question was where? After a few late evenings trying different holiday options we decide to hit China for two and a half weeks. The plan was to see Beijing, Xi'an and Lijiang before finishing off with Shanghai. Needless to say I never took them up on there more than dodgy offer. The Great Wall Of China. We were up at the crack of dawn waiting for our...

Fiji
I had only been back from China for about 2 months when I was lucky enough to be offered a trip to Fiji. I accepted knowing that this would be an excellent chance to just unwind as it was going to be an 8 day long famil with very few hotel inspections. The next morning we rose early and set off to experience something not many people do on their visit to Fiji. We were taking a flight up to Savu Savu and spending a few nights on the northern island of Fiji. We stayed for one night at the golf and racket c...

Cambodia
4th April 2006 - 7th April 2006. Cambodia wasn't one of the top places on my travel list until a few months before the trip. I had only ever seen a few photo's of Angkor Wat but never really knew anything else. I was still working for FC at this time so the trip was only going to be a quick holiday. The plan was to fly into Siem Reap, Cambodia for 3 nights and then drop into Bangkok and Singapore before returning home. We were greeted by a man dressed in smart Asian attire. Black shiny shoes, blue dr...
