A Grotto is a niche that holds a holy object, often a statue, creating a shrine. We call it Sacred Space Furniture. These grottos were inspired by a picture our beloved Aunt Helen painted many years ago. The picture was of a fawn stopping in to look up at a statue of Our Lady in a grotto tucked among the trees. Each beheld the other. The scene was serene and touched by grace. Catharine, like Aunt Helen’s little fawn, was amazed by the simple beauty of each of her husband’s gifts. The Twenty Ten Theme.
