Sharing a project with friends. Quinta-feira, 28 de maio de 2015. Sorry for the lousy quality of the photo. Gotta get a decent camera. Anyway the floats are there and boat is getting bigger, well, at least wider! No I just need to sort out the mast and it's not being easy. Work on the trailer's berths, take the floats and beams apart and continue surface final finishing for painting. So far, a lot of swet and high blood pressure but getting there, one day at a time. Sharing a project with friends. Terça-feira, 26 de maio de 2015. Trial fitting the beams. It ain't no piece of cake! If you want to get it done right, at least to the point the boat sails straight and even on both tacks you gotta spend plenty of time here. I mean more than 2 days! More than 5mm all around is just too much! Yet still have to tweek around with a close to 18 mm fore and aft gap on the starboard forward beam. The rest is under 5mm tolerance which is excellent by all means! The time is now!

Been waiting and waiting. for the old temperate Mediterranean weather that make the envy of many living on higher latitudes , but this year it has been raining on wet. 65279; throughout the whole winter and well into Spring! With the precious help of two lasers its possible to verify the excellent alignent of the beam mount section. The superposition of the vertical beams seen on the ceiling is a good confirmation of that.

It has been a while but well worth it. We launched at Martha Cove in Melbourne with family and friends around to witness the event. I have decided to call the boat "Shockwave". I was going to make a carbon fibre pole, but after much deliberation, I have decided to go with aluminium. With a bearing at the both ends of the tube the pole is a neat sliding fit. Just a little blog to pass on some info during the build of my Farrier F82R in Australia. Saturday, April 10, 2010. Unfortunately work has been a bit slow on the boat.frustrating. Work and other bits and pieces have taken a lot of my spare time. At least I have been able to do a few things. After much debate I decided that since I was making the daggerboard rudder and box that I would also alter the transom to suit. So I made the transom support bracket and cut a big hole in the cockpit floor.

Sunday, July 31, 2011. The next step, though straight forward, was one of those "think twice, cut once" moments - cutting a large hole in the keel. This is how the cut edge of the plank join looked. I think that cutting one side with the knife and filling with the Zip-Lock bags worked well. This is the set-up I had to make leveling the case easy and repeatable. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Not being able to lift the hull very far I had to crawl along underneath to remove the screws. Some areas behind the deck and near the keel were a real challenge. I hadn't been planing on saving most of the battens, so it was an easy choice to start cutting them up when it became easier to do it that way. Its quite the archeological dig under the forms. Sharing a project with friends. Terça-feira, 16 de fevereiro de 2016. But it held on just fine . Painting the main hull in one go was a bit challenging but it turned out to be easier than I thought. The paint is very hard and the finnish is excellent. Had to open a section of the booth to get the main hull out and the floats in. Here the floats are getting prepped for top coat.
