Mt. Sneffels | matt and allison
https://mattandallison.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/mt-sneffels
Sunrise over the Yankee Boy Basin (taken from the base of Mt. Sneffels). Upper section of Sneffels as seen from Kismet; the Lavender Couloir is visible in the top-left. Lavender Couloir seen from below. The climb was a lot more interesting from here on out. In order to reach the “V Notch” – a short scramble to gain access to the summit – I had to climb about 300-400 feet of steep snowpack. Testing out the ice at the start of the climb. Stopping for a selfie halfway up. I had to self-arrest once on the de...
Challenger Point | matt and allison
https://mattandallison.wordpress.com/2015/07/19/challenger-point
I reached my hotel in Alamosa on the evening of 7/6 and started working on a backup plan. Since I’d already made the drive to the Sangre de Cristo’s, I figured I would at least make an attempt at Challenger Point and Kit Carson. After that, I decided I’d plan to drive north to the Sawatch Range to hopefully bag a few more 14ers. The first creek crossing. After reaching Willow Lake, I faced a long, steady, 2000′ climb up the north slope of Challenger Point (14,081′). I was within the cloud...The storm bro...
Sleepy Hollow Rogaine 2014 | matt and allison
https://mattandallison.wordpress.com/2014/11/16/sleepy-hollow-rogaine-2014
Sleepy Hollow Rogaine 2014. Dad and I recently met up in southern Ohio to compete in the Sleepy Hollow 12-hour rogaine. It was Dad’s first rogaine, and my third. A perfectly named sport for a bald guy and a soon-to-be-bald guy. From control #40, we headed north to make a several-mile loop of controls #50, #70, #80, and #60. The navigation went smoothly, but we did lose a little time tangled up in a nasty thicket of thorn-bushes. Matt at control #54 (center-left). Route allowed us to stop back by the star...
Kettle Moraine 38 Mile “Fun Run” | matt and allison
https://mattandallison.wordpress.com/2014/06/08/kettle-moraine-38-mile-fun-run
Kettle Moraine 38 Mile “Fun Run”. My racing schedule is relatively light this summer, but I wanted to find a longer training run in preparation for the Heartland 100-miler. Which I’m signed up to run in October. Since I’m a wimp when it comes to running in hot weather, and since I’ve been wanting to gain more experience with night running, the Kettle Moraine 38-mile overnight “fun run” was a good choice. Running all night on a trail is tough to describe, except to say that it’s awesome. For the...Things ...
2014 World Rogaining Championships | matt and allison
https://mattandallison.wordpress.com/2014/09/01/2014-world-rogaining-championships
2014 World Rogaining Championships. A few weeks ago, my brother Trent and I competed in the 12th annual World Rogaining Championships – a 24 hour, long-distance, cross-country navigation race. Our team name was “The Donner Party”. Trent and myself, pre-race. Mom (far left) and Trent’s girlfriend Kelsey (far right) made the trip with us. When noon finally arrived, the 400 competitors took off running in all directions. Trent and I had decided on a 4-5 hour first loop that would take us in a southeaste...

Sunday, July 27, 2014. Summer Trips in a Nutshell. We kicked off summer spending the weekend in St. George. We did our traditional Red Cliffs hike and found a fun new hike at Kanarraville Falls. We also did some boating at Quail Creek. I like to force my kids to have fun. Zach had so much fun, he peed his pants- -twice. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Check out Matt's Photography. Out of Storage Space. Evidently WordPress has a 3GB limit on upload space, and after 6 years we’ve reached our cap. From now on we’ll be posting on a new site, “matt and allison 2”. Here’s the link:. Https:/ mattandallison2.wordpress.com/. On August 29, 2017 at 2:09 pm Comments (1). View toward Lonesome Mountain, just before leaving the trail. The landscape was pretty amazing; the only real downside was the mosquitoes. Mountain terrain; view to the west. Climbing the south ramp of Lonesome Mountain.
Matt & Allison Get Married
Join Us in Celebration. We are pleased that you are here and finding out more about our big day! Our excitement is growing every day! But what brought us to the momentous occasion you ask? Well, it all started in the beginning of 2011, when girl saw boy and winked at boy. The wink quickly turned into bonding over faith, food, dogs and family. Love can happen fast when you find the right person. She of course joyously said yes! Bed Bath and Beyond. Bed Bath and Beyond.

A Work In Progress
Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Here's what we started with when we moved in. This picture was probably taken around February 2012. By summer time, my vintage glider (that doesn't glide) was placed along the railing on the left of this photo. It was always in the blazing sun every afternoon when I wanted to sit in it. The dining table was placed on the right side because I feared the cushions would get wet from the rain. It was very lacking in the furniture department. Use your imagination. I've own the glider ...
All you need is love...
Sunday, May 31, 2015. But overall was so fun. I just love my little family. Williams not a baby anymore. OOn the way from the airport today, William told Matt that "Little Friend"(Williams imaginary friend) told him that he wasn't a baby anymore. Matt asked what the reasons were. William said, "I go poopoo in the potty and got a piece of chocolate, I help you find the car, I climbed the volcano, and I'm a good big brother." That pretty much sums up his trip to Hawaii! Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Today at th...
