It Wasn’t Supposed to Be Like This | d runge

Notes from my backpack. Entries you’ll eventually find here. Why you might want to read…. It Wasn’t Supposed to Be Like This. February 5, 2010. I’d never been so shook. What followed the next weeks could best be described as a full out adult temper tantrum. The words were, “stage 4, lung cancer”. I stood with her as the doctor told us with a smile, then shuttled her to sign off on her treatment so he could tell me that I should do what I needed to do since she only had weeks. What are we doing here?
On My Back | d runge

Notes from my backpack. Entries you’ll eventually find here. Why you might want to read…. August 28, 2011. Custer said it first, then Lombardi. It’s not how many times you get knocked down, but get back up. But, it gets tiring. It’s also starts to make you wonder. Why? Why do I keep getting knocked down? There’s this nagging sequence of thoughts. Holy cow, I didn’t see that one coming. This hurts. Worse than ever. I can’t believe I’m in this position again. Maybe if I stay here a little longer. I keep th...

Limbo | d runge
https://dlrunge.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/limbo
Notes from my backpack. Entries you’ll eventually find here. Why you might want to read…. January 27, 2010. Stuck in the middle, between a rock and a hard place, neither here nor there, in no man’s land, on the fence. We prefer neat and orderly. Black and white. Certain. Defined. We got a call just a few hours later. Jeff was gone. Visibility was low. He was the second sled so visibility for him was worse. They slowed, but came up over a hill catching, of all things, an Amish buggy. The first...The next ...

Notes from my backpack. Entries you’ll eventually find here. Why you might want to read…. Why you might want to read…. Now I work for the ReThink Group with pure genius people who all share the same passion I do to inspire and equip ministry leaders to invest in influencing the next generation and revolutionize what they do. I’ve had the best of times and the worst of times and learned some things along the way. There’s more but that’s what the notes in my backpack is for…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Not Here But There | d runge
https://dlrunge.wordpress.com/2010/02/10/70
Notes from my backpack. Entries you’ll eventually find here. Why you might want to read…. Not Here But There. February 10, 2010. I’ve got a few ingredients in my DNA that make life…uhm…interesting…for others around me. They weren’t right. So, I’m moving them”, I said as I cast my full body weight backwards to dislodge a 3-4 foot ball of roots. Of course. Doesn’t everybody regularly reshrub their land? But when I sat on my deck with my mom and had to convey the reality of her diagnosis to her. All tha...
Herd | d runge
https://dlrunge.wordpress.com/2011/05/31/herd
Notes from my backpack. Entries you’ll eventually find here. Why you might want to read…. May 31, 2011. Remember the scene in the Lion King where Scar intentionally incites the herd of wildebeast to stampede? First one, seven, then hundreds of wildebeast run. They just run. They take the shoulder of the one before them, in frantic pace, moving blindly ahead. They instinctually react after some trigger. There’s no thinking, no planning, no consideration. They just run. Eventually some tire and slow until ...

Break up the creative rut. Posted by matt beres. Posted On 1.25.2011 at. Alright - so, I'm back. For now. The blog expresses creativity, but it also is a catalyst to create creativity.
