Deckard's Guide: Respecting Hollywood's Spectacles
http://deckardsguide.blogspot.com/2014/04/respecting-hollywoods-spectacles.html
Sunday, April 27, 2014. Shoes, trousers, jacket vest, shirt, tie. all of these items are important; Hats too, Yet none of those things are as important as the glasses you put on your face. When I originally decided to wear the wire rimmed P3 style seen in the images below, I did so a bit out of fandom of the Indiana Jones look sported by Harrison Ford, and, a bit more out of the fact that I hadn't really seen a pair of glasses that just suited my own long oval face shape nearly as well.

Monday, December 24, 2012. Collar of Things to Come. Sunday, December 9, 2012. Presenting: Tidbits on Clark Gable's Tailored Wears. By the way, not buttoning the bottom button on a vest is a decision, not a rule. If the vest cuts away so the button wont reach, then the tailor made the decision for you. Now to the vests. Now to the jackets. One button to center it all! Now to the trousers. Anywho, just wanted to get some of my thoughts out there regarding why I love the looks of Eddie Schmidt's tailored g...

Deckard's Guide: January 2012
http://deckardsguide.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 29, 2012. Join the sartorial revolution. And it all starts with a sports jacket. You look in the mirror and get that hair perfectly quaffed in a vertical spike that tilts back just a little, looks great - now for the clothing. A black t-shirt with a spirited set of words scrolled on the chest, and to cover your hindquarters, you choose that red pair of knee length shorts that coordinate perfectly creating a harmony that you have spent decades honing and it defines you - it is you! Yes the...

Deckard's Guide: It's all in the details: Manhattan 2014
http://deckardsguide.blogspot.com/2014/07/its-all-in-details-manhattan-2014.html
Saturday, July 26, 2014. It's all in the details: Manhattan 2014. Ignacio Quiles, Dandy Wellington, Matt Deckard. I’m continuously neglecting putting pen to paper or even fingers to keyboard. Something I’ve shied away from for the last few years… just a lot of trauma I guess. Best hopes dashed on some fronts and losing both my parents in quick succession… Just not the recipe for taking time to sit and concentrate in the ways I’ve done in the past. To the blog (We still use that word? Me and Gibson Frazier.

Monday, December 9, 2013. Flattering laces flat: A tail of strapping on your shoes with a touch (just a touch) of old school panache. A return to the flat, waxed cotton shoelace. Flat laces that are all cotton tend to break down a lot faster than the current issue round lace with nylon core. In the early 1950s the US military kept with flat laces that were made of nylon for a short time for dress shoe wear, but those laces tend to. A pair of Buzz Rickson officer shoe reproductions I purchased along with ...

August 11, 2015. One year in Minneapolis. It’s been exactly one year since I moved to Minneapolis, and a lot has happened. In chronological order:. Co-founded Break the Bubble. Did a sprint triathlon. Went to the White House. Found my dream job. Quit my dream job. Gave an Ignite talk. Met the Co-founder of Reddit. Competed in a Crossfit competition with Marijke. Made more new friends than I can count. Attended more events than I can count. And what have I learned? That Minneapolis is a really nice place.
