Saturday, April 29, 2006. A Mini-Vacation in Smiths Falls. I wasn't planning to update this blog for just a one-night stay in Smiths Falls, but when I saw that there was a free internet connection in the lobby of the Comfort Inn, I couldn't stop myself. It's a wonderful inn in a wonderful location - our room as a balcony overlooking a swift-moving Rideau River, and we're within walking distance of the locks and Smiths Falls' charming downtown. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. We stayed two nights at a beautiful resort called Haad Son on Koh Phenan. Koh Phenan is a bit smaller and less developed than Koh Samui, but still big enough. We had some issues with the resort manangement (email me if you want details), but the spot itself was magnificant. We were able to snorkle right from our front doorstep - imagine! Saturday, February 24, 2007. A Bonus Night in Dehli. Well, Dear Reader, we got a bonus night in Dehli - at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Yes, our flight was delayed by 10 hours. The reason for the flight delay was understandable. The reason for the delay and confusion of information given to passengers was not. Saturday, February 25, 2006. My next favorite food was from a local Thai restaurant. There I found I really needed a 'local' around me (like Heather) who would order for me, as there are no menus in English. In some of them the table was supplied with a mass of fresh herbs and some cucumber and long beans, and you just help yourself - like you would to salt and pepper and ketchup here.
