I listened to a wonderful interview on NPR this morning. The inventor of the Six-Word Memoirs. He waited forty-seven years for me. Raised by crazies. Keeping up tradition. Finally happily married, gone too soon. Girlfriend's Pregnant" husband said to wife. Born under fascism. Thrived in democracy. Each student equals one gray hair.

Tales from a Vicar. The adventures of a 30-something pastor (by way of Zambia- by way of Manhattan- by way of Philadelphia - now in Charleston). Friday, March 22, 2013. Meet the newest addition of our family. Charleston (sometimes called Charlie). He kills me with his cuteness. When we first got him he could easily fit into the palm of one hand. Now we cup two hands and he nestles snugly. I think I'm going to be an artist today. This luxury is free, so here's to it. March 22, 2013 at 12:25 PM. Musings by...

Fresh and Fancy: What happens when you say yes?
http://freshandfancy.blogspot.com/2013/04/what-happens-when-you-say-yes.html
Thursday, April 4, 2013. What happens when you say yes? More and more I am learning to appreciate the life I am living. We have been back in Washington for a wee bit more than four months now, and just within the last few weeks, I feel like I have “woken up” from the fog and fatigue that come with big changes. I was trying to express to a friend the liberation I was feeling and she asked me if I could pinpoint a reason for the change in my mood and outlook. That is no small matter, I assure you. There ar...

Fresh and Fancy: Good Clean Food
http://freshandfancy.blogspot.com/2012/09/good-clean-food.html
Sunday, September 2, 2012. Andy and I have been participating in a six-week challenge at our gym. Most CrossFitters have heard about the "paleo" diet. The two go hand in hand. The first week Andy tried CrossFit he came home telling me he wanted to try a new way of eating. On the off-limit list would be: dairy, grains, sugar, legumes and soy. My reaction was, anything that says you can't eat beans is not healthy. So we tabled the idea. Which just so happens to include this particular theory about food.

Fresh and Fancy: June 2012
http://freshandfancy.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 17, 2012. Off to a good start! It turns out that I am a really great starter, but not much of a finisher. I’m disappointed to learn this. Especially since the lesson has been quiet expensive. I probably should have realized it sooner (since Andy has been hinting at it for a while - when I told him what I was writing about he laughed really hard and said, “that’s funny! 8221;) but some truths about ourselves are hard to accept. I just spent a pretty penny on a 24-day diet challenge. After two...

Fresh and Fancy: May 2012
http://freshandfancy.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 23, 2012. I had a bit of a shock this morning as I walked past my front-room window. I was running back into the house for one last thing before driving off to my morning CrossFit class. I did a double take as I neared the door. Please understand, I knew what I was putting on this morning. I knew because every night I look at the workout for the next day and decide what pieces of my workout wear will give me the best chance of success. Skintight capris it is! I can do a pull up. But throug...

Tales from a Vicar. The adventures of a 30-something pastor (by way of Zambia- by way of Manhattan- by way of Philadelphia - now in Charleston). Tuesday, December 4, 2012. I was in a staff meeting today and "poof" I remembered that it is my one-month anniversary! 30 days of marital bliss. Hooray for love-sweet-love! I frowned, "No. But he makes us cappuccinos every morning.". Two other women popped out of their offices with eyebrows raised. "Clark makes you a cappuccino every morning? I have an idea: You...

Follow Kate's path to follow Christ more closely, one day at a time. Saturday, March 28, 2015. National park time. Into Seoraksan to wander. Up and up and up some rocks. At lunch time. Not super happy Kate. Down to eat food. Then take a cable car up Mount Seorak. Ice cream and Karen's first dip n dots at the top. Then back down for a chill evening at the hostel. Over 30,000 steps today. So my legs hurt. I am Kate Maxwell. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am Kate Maxwell. View my complete profile.
