Winter Halo over Fairholme Farms. Farm Map / Aerial. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Winter Halo over Fairholme Farms. Mike shared this amazing photo of a Winter Halo around the Horse barn. In folklore, moon rings are said to warn of approaching storms. Like other ice halos, 22° halos appear when the sky is covered by thin cirrus clouds that often come a few days before a large storm front. Well, given the Winter we ended up having, the part about warning of an approached storm was true in spades!

The Current State of Corn. Farm Map / Aerial. Monday, June 22, 2015. The Current State of Corn. Some interesting observations from today's discussions and readings about the aerial images:. With warm temperatures during June and plenty of water, we can expect corn plants to be tall this year where the roots weren't too wet, and significantly shorter where the roots haven't been able to breathe for three weeks. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Fairholme Farms has had the wettest spring since 1996, 19 years ago....
