20 Something

It came to my attention this week that J.D. Salinger recently died at the ripe old age of 91 or something like that. Naturally, this has caused all sorts of major upset in the literary world and whatnot. I mean, boo hoo and stuff, but really? I feel like if you chose to live your life as a recluse, you're kind of dead to the world anyway, right? Really freakin' original, buddy. And, just for giggles, here's the official news release from The Onion. What are my plans? Where am I going to grad school?

Because I'm on my way out of the institution known as "school," people like to ask me about my future (which is the f-word, though sometimes I'd like to respond with a very different f-word). What are my plans? Where am I going to grad school? What's happening after graduation? I suppose I'm flattered; I don't really know. Besides, I'm not a one-dimensional person with only one interest. I'm a very well-rounded person in fact, and as such I have a wide variety of interests. Having a one-dimension...Anywa...

Tales from the Liquor Store. Last Wednesday was my 21st birthday and despite the fact that it fell smack dab in the middle of finals week and that I'm not much of a drinker at all, I decided I couldn't let the momentous occasion pass without having SOME alcohol, right? It seems like a rite of passage sort of thing. Anyway, I took (and likely failed) my finance final (which I was having serious difficulty caring about) that evening at like 5 and stopped at the grocery store on my way back to the apartment.

A (Bull)Dog's Life: February 2010

http://meagansavage-drake.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 28, 2010. 77 days and counting. Considering I have a blog, I don't tend to spend a lot of time reading other blogs. I feel that that's probably a little. hypocritical or unsportsmanlike or something. I guess I just have short attention span for that sort of thing. Anyway, I do find myself from time to time perusing the bloggosphere and there's one particular type of blog that just irritates me to no end. I don't even know where to start with that one. I really, really, REALLY don't.

Meagan In London

This is the blog of my experiences during British Studies in London. I'll use this space to record my experiences at the many historical and literary sites I visit for the program! Friday, 3 August 2007. Thursday, 2 August 2007. Wednesday, 1 August 2007. Caird Library and the Royal Observatory. After leaving the Caird Library, I felt a distinct need to get some fresh air and take some time to really come to terms with the magnitude of our experience there. My head was swimming with it! Thursday, September 20, 2012. Some Official Goodbyes and Tofo Take 2. However, it is a great reality check for me personally and professionally. These trips always make me appreciate what I do have here and how strong our main center in Quelimane is. It’s even harder to get out! But for those of you who know me all too well, I have most of my paperwork done and ready to be handed in. 2. I found it kind of funny that we had a session about “What will America be like? Rocky Mountain Life

Thursday, January 28, 2010. Life in CO has been going very well. I'm all settled in to my new cottage . best little place! Plus, I did all the repairs and renovations (except the floors, the pops did that) so I appreciate it's quality WAY more! It's really nice to live somewhere I love. And there is only one way in and out of the little housing area . sometimes we have little traffic jams. With all the recent turmoil in Congress over the Health Care reform, I'm starting to wonder what will change. Al...

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011

Meagan in Uganda 2010-2011. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. July 1st to July 13th. Today I am really tired. We worked on writing all day and making plans about our trip to the west. We hope to meet Mary’s family when we go. So excited! Today was a good day. We also met Seith, our driver for our trip west. He helped us come up with a plan and decide on our budget and what we want to do when we get there. Things are falling into place right at the end how they always do. Somehow. Do mosquitoes transmit HIV?
