Random ramblings on the joys and woes of parenting. July 18, 2013. We’ve been loving the hot weather- the boys don’t seem too bothered by it and I’m in my element! It has also meant that much of our play has been outside and it has been messy! Thursday, 26 April 2012. This evening I was coaching 2* for the Enre Paddlers. As it was quite windy it was an obvious choice to introduce the group to the idea of trim. Trim is were you position the weight in the boat so that it remains easier to control in windy conditions. The simplest way to explain it is while paddling into the wind have your weight forward and your weight back when paddling down wind. We also had a look at the draw stroke and started looking at different ways to turn our boats.
