Sweden for a year: October 2005
http://swedenforayear.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Sweden for a year. Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Now what does this picture tell you? We're pretty high up (8th floor, to be exact). It's pretty dark outside. The thermometer that the guy living here before me had taped to the outside of the window is gone. It looks like it didn't stand the strong wind we had recently. Posted by Stefan at 21:56. Friday, October 07, 2005. See what happened in the last month in Sthlm:. We visited the royal palace at Drottningholm. Of the Kaiser Chiefs. On some broken bench.

Sweden for a year. Monday, May 29, 2006. My brother came all the way from Paris. To visit me, and we had a weekend of great fun and awesome moments together. In the first sunlight on Sunday morning. When I dropped him off at the airport, Sthlm seemed a bit less lively again. Posted by Stefan at 22:09. A lot of stuff has happened in the last couple of days/weeks. life here is finally buzzing with activity again, and this has happened:. But here everything had to happen on only one day:. It's a huge festiv...

Sweden for a year: June 2006
http://swedenforayear.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Sweden for a year. Tuesday, June 06, 2006. Roadtrip through Central Sweden. 4 friends, 5 days, 2000km. The academic year is closing quickly, so fellow Austrian Daniel. Decided to take a Roadtrip (tm) through central Sweden, or at least as far as we could go within the course of five days. In northern Sweden, there's an average 1 person. Living per square kilometer. And when there are people living somewhere, it's picturesque. Fast as lightening, and then it was gone again. Wouldn't you want to live here?

Sweden for a year: September 2005

Sweden for a year. Friday, September 02, 2005. While Stockholm lies at the sea, it's not exactly at the open water: there's an archipelago called "Skärgården" that's you have to pass if you want to reach the open waters. There are a lot of islands in the archipelago, and ferries going back and forth. On Tuesday we decided to visit one of them. They're supposed to be very beautiful, and they really were worth the visit (and the boat ride there was also quite spectacular.) Sandhamn. And some smoked salmon ...

Sweden for a year: November 2005
http://swedenforayear.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Sweden for a year. Friday, November 04, 2005. November is here in Sweden, it gets dark almost at four o'clock, but still no snow/ ingen snö. I get over it looking at Calvin&Hobbes/ Kalle och Hobbe. It's also the last Calvin and Hobbes-strip that Bill Watterson ever created. We decided to go on a Road-Trip to Gotland. Swedens biggest island. It's supposed to be something like a "Swedish Ibiza" in summer, but at the end of October it's lonely and beautiful. From the late Bronze Age, which is a grave.

Sweden for a year: March 2006
http://swedenforayear.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Sweden for a year. Thursday, March 30, 2006. Consider how last post's picture of the snow slush compares with views from Paris at the same time. Now you know what it looks like if a city lies 2000km closer to the north pole than another one. Posted by Stefan at 02:19. Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Which means it's not cold enough to snow instead. Spring's coming! In the meantime, I'll just ignore the snow slush. Thanks dict.leo.org. So how should we be able to see the stars? Posted by Stefan at 00:38. I had...

Sweden for a year. Monday, April 17, 2006. Happy Easter to all of you! I picked up Théo from the airport today and he has brought me a nice chocolate Easter bunny from Germany. I was so surprised to get this familiar delicious animal here in Sthlm! It's sitting beside me now and watching me with big dark eyes. Good luck all of you lovely people! Posted by Stefan at 00:34. Friday, April 14, 2006. The ark has arrived. Posted by Stefan at 01:09. Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Maybe it's also the full moon on the ...

Sweden for a year: August 2005
http://swedenforayear.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Sweden for a year. Sunday, August 28, 2005. No, we didn't take a bike trip. Today a couple of other exchange students and me took advantage of the nice weather and got on a train to Uppsala. It took us about 40 minutes to reach the 4th largest city in Sweden (a little less than 200.000 inhabitants). We also found out that Swedish trains are quite comfortable (and they supply free barf bags in the trains! I'll spare you the details about the palace and the cathedral, let's just say that they were quite im...
