Health Yo-yos!: April 2009
http://healthyoyos.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2009. I have done such a good job with my eating habits this week and my exercise and find myself not feeling well tonight. Eat right, exercise and get sick. That's just not fair is it? 125 though. Sleeping well. I started a contest with my husband this week, to see who can lose the most weight (percentage) before my high school reunion. Ok, so it's early, but I'm winning! He already looks fantastic though, so I'm sure he's just trying to motivate me. And boy do I need motivating!

Yeah, easier said than done.Hello, we are trying to make it to a doctor's appointment on time. Today my 12 year old came into the family room asking her 9 year old sister, "Hey, you want this? Luckily I had time to REWIND. I don't often have that luxury. But, it is a good teaching tool when I can.even if I have to coach it along. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, April 20, 2009. Religiously speaking and just plain common sense- they are their own unique spirit. We are only entrusted with their care. Sure we can influence, sure there will be inherited traits, but that is only a small part, the rest is just who they are! And I think if it were any other way, it'd be too easy and life would be boring! Today's mantra, accept myself AND my children for who they are. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Health Yo-yos!: Lose it!
http://healthyoyos.blogspot.com/2010/12/lose-it.html
Friday, December 24, 2010. My friend Andrea was writing on facebook about this app called "Lose it! So I downloaded it onto my iPhone and it looks pretty cool. I put in that I wanted to lose 6lbs in 12 weeks, so it's got me losing 1/2 a pound a week and taking in 1457 calories a day, but I get to add back calories for calories I burn exercising. I type in what I eat and it searches for that food and puts in the calories for me. Anyways I got to add back in 87 calories for today for my Yogalates workout!

Sunday, December 12, 2010. When this happens. It's time to try different, instead of trying harder. Unfortunately sometimes that means inconveniencing the parent or sacrificing something you want for your child in order to give something they need. The "different" part depends on the kid and the situation and there are no easy answers, but if you think long and hard enough.options will come to mind. Labels: dont try harder- try different. Friday, April 24, 2009. Parent and Child AGENDAS. The child, especially the teen wants or demands: FRIENDS, FUN, FREEDOM, FOOD! The parent wants or demands: RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY! The clashing of those 2 agendas is sometimes volatile! Baby steps. Notice any respect or responsibility from the child and PRAISE it. Shhh.don't tell them, but praising them increases the likelihood of that behavior happening again and subconsciously wills them to want to please you in other ways! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
