Went to the bookstore today; got the last book for ENGL 486 (Landmark Essays, A Guide to Composition Pedagogies, and Writing New Media). Printed out the readings.almost killed my printer but all in all saved me a ton of money. Trying to get in the flow of posting on the blog so if there are a whole bunch of random. Tuesday, May 8, 2007. How to ask professors to “demystify their own disciplinary discourse for students” (p. 155)? How to engage professors in this? This is hard not only due to personal interests but also because this is institutionally compartmentalized. It is hard for me to imagine a chemistry teacher choosing to read the “resources for teachers in the disciplines” (p. 155) that McLeod suggests instead of an article in a journal in his/her own field.
