The Old Cowboy and Photography: January 2015
http://michaelclementphotography.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Sunday, January 18, 2015. After saying good-bye to my bird we got back on the highway and drove a few miles south to Tumacacori Natioinal Monument. Like San Xavier Tumacacori was started as a mission by Father Kino in the late 17th century. Apache depradations were so bad that it was abandoned in the mid 19th century. The photo below is taken just outside the mission office/museum. San Xavier Redux 4/14/12.

The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Monday, May 26, 2014. The first two photos below are of lichens found growing on the rocks and sometimes on the masonry in the area. I love the orange and turquoise colors. The third photo is of some small high desert flowers. The photos were taken in mid April; the elevation is about 5800 feet. The two photos above are of a ruin called Square Tower. This ruin sits in the botton of the canyon, built on a...

The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Saturday, July 18, 2015. Above is our ship at the pier in Horta. The photo below is of a brightly painted house. This old rock house is probably one of the older houses in Horta. A small park, church steeple in the background. This building is built around the corner, as it were, as is one in the second photo. I love all this color. Another interesting corner building. I love these gardens.

The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. The Story of a Tree. The next photo is from about 19898 or 1990. The photo below shows the tree in 2010 at it most magnificent. I believe that winter we lost a medium size limb from the left side. These photos shows the broken limb and where it came from. The photos below give you a better idea of just how big this limb was. Labels: African Sumac tree. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://michaelclementphotography.blogspot.com/2015/07/chartres-part-iii.html
The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. We were at Chartres Cathedral in Chartres, France on May 5. It was a beautiful day but unfortunately we were only able to spend about two hours there, late in the afternoon. I was able to get some photos of some of the stained glass and a few of the exterior. Below is the south rose window with its lancets. The next photo show only the rose. In this one Christ is in majesty. I have n...

Saturday, March 27, 2010. These I Have Loved. Here's a poem from high school. I'm thinking about writing an update or an addendum. Because that last line stands out to me like a challenge - my younger self of ten years ago asking me what has changed about my loves. Here's a challenge for you, gentle reader: what are your loves? If you like, go write a similar poem on your blog! These I have loved:. Cloudless skies, brightly beaming; red rocks. Jutting up out of glittering blue water;. Exhilarating accept...
The Golden Orb: October 2010

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Then Max sat down and got a ponderous look on his young face. "It's funny," he said, "People have a baby and it's either the beginning of their life or the end of their life.". You know, it's either the beginning of their life or the end of their life.". Either I wasn't sure what he was getting at or Max was becoming a philosopher rather early. "Max, I don't understand, what do you mean? Oh, I see, they were pretty old, weren't they? The Golden Orb: Dublin Encounters: Episode 1

Monday, December 3, 2012. Dublin Encounters: Episode 1. As an American pedestrian in Ireland, I never could remember which way to look for traffic. If I was a passenger in a car, I didn't have any trouble remembering which side of the road I was on and where oncoming traffic would be. But put me on my feet, and it was, "Why is there suddenly a car right where I'm about to walk? Posted by Carrie Nation. A wonderful memory and a lovely bit of writing. December 3, 2012 at 11:50 AM. The Golden Orb: January 2015

Thursday, January 29, 2015. Reflections on a Stormy Night. Written about twelve years ago. I waited for the next clap to fade away, and then I sat up, swung my feet to the floor, grabbed my pillow and federdecke, and darted out of my room, stumbling over my shoes on the way. I wasted no time in turning the corner into the hallway leading to my parents’ bedroom. I walked hurriedly, blindly down the hallway and entered the bedroom. Without my mother sitting next to me. I suppose it also helped explain ...

Monday, April 26, 2010. Posted by Carrie Nation. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Sarah and I when we were at BYU used to take weekend trips up to see Alice. My freshman year there was a weekend we went up there and we all did facials one night. Somewhere we have some great pictures of the three of us in facial masks. Who can forget her hiccup-burps? And now let me leave you with one of my favorite episodic memories of Alice. My mom, Sarah, and I took Alice to a double feature. (I even remember that one o...I nee...

Here's a poem I just found from my freshman year of college, and yes, it was written while cramming for a test. Fun times. 3 AM History of Civilization. Was at the Doryphoros. And his mathematical preciseness was -. He had a spear. Now he has a. Door - for us. Are you sure it isn't urban. No it is marble, though. It used to be copper. Pennies. A one-cent spear-bearer?
