http://lambcurryandrice.blogspot.com/2011/11/day-6-fourth-shift-another-old-post.html
Sunday, November 6, 2011. Day 6: The Fourth Shift (Another Old Post). Climbing back onto the wagon. Here's another old post from about two years that I never finished. This past Monday I had a conversation with one of my fellow grad studs about our respective weekends. I said I hadn't done too much, just some homework and hanging out with Matt. He then looked quite proud of himself and said "Well, I made a soup! I admit that I didn't read the book or see his speech (which was protested, btw, by the local...

Lamb Curry and Rice: February 2011
http://lambcurryandrice.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 27, 2011. And then the teamsters showed up. But tonight the people prevailed and they're spending the night at least one more night. That's what happens when you have the cops on your side who say they're not going to forcible remove anyone. Monday, February 21, 2011. Why I'm Doing What I'm Doing. I got an email from a concerned family member tonight about the situation in here in cheeseland. I've crossposted my response below in case anyone is interested why I'm protesting:. The article...

Lamb Curry and Rice: Holy Envy
http://lambcurryandrice.blogspot.com/2012/08/holy-envy.html
Wednesday, August 15, 2012. What would it be like to have a professional clergy? Someone who was looking out for the welfare of his congregation 24/7? Someone who had the time and training to build and maintain a community? As much as I love the concept of a lay clergy, I am sometimes jealous of a professional clergy with their entire time devoted to their congregation. Pastoral care is difficult enough without adding the distractions of a career and family. Although I appreciate this aspect of Mormonism...

Lamb Curry and Rice: October 2010
http://lambcurryandrice.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 10, 2010. If you want to be a badger, just come along with me. For example, I had been feverishly working to learn the fight song before I got there, only to discover that it's about the only song NOT sung by the student section, except for a few choice words ("U-rah-rah" and "Fight"). I might as well have learned it in German. The badgers soon acquired a 14-0 lead and we quickly learned the accompanying bobbing, fist pumping and chanting. And of course, Bucky doing push-ups. And chant vu...

The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Monday, May 26, 2014. The first two photos below are of lichens found growing on the rocks and sometimes on the masonry in the area. I love the orange and turquoise colors. The third photo is of some small high desert flowers. The photos were taken in mid April; the elevation is about 5800 feet. The two photos above are of a ruin called Square Tower. This ruin sits in the botton of the canyon, built on a...

The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Saturday, July 18, 2015. Above is our ship at the pier in Horta. The photo below is of a brightly painted house. This old rock house is probably one of the older houses in Horta. A small park, church steeple in the background. This building is built around the corner, as it were, as is one in the second photo. I love all this color. Another interesting corner building. I love these gardens.

The Old Cowboy and Photography. A blog about photography, travel, and other topics as they arise. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. The Story of a Tree. The next photo is from about 19898 or 1990. The photo below shows the tree in 2010 at it most magnificent. I believe that winter we lost a medium size limb from the left side. These photos shows the broken limb and where it came from. The photos below give you a better idea of just how big this limb was. Labels: African Sumac tree. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
