Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: October 2009
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Hey all, I finally have the bandwidth to post some low quality videos. I have one from my old house in Ha Sefako and one from my new house in Maseru. Enjoy. Sunday, October 25, 2009. First Full Week and a New House. Sorry for the big gap between substantive blog reports; it’s been busy around here. First of all, let me get some business items out of the way. Ok, on to more interesting things. Oh, and I'll get some pictures up of the new house this week. Tuesday, October 20, 2009.

Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: World Habitat Day
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2010/10/world-habitat-day.html
Sunday, October 17, 2010. Last weekend a number of PCVs and I went to help out at World Habitat Day. A former Peace Corps Volunteer from here in Lesotho (Lorian) finished her service in May or so and took a position with Habitat for Humanity Lesotho. We caught a ride out there around 8:30, stopped for some snacks and showed up in the village around 10. These horses had some great burlap sack capes on. They looked like they were the kings of the village. The village women again. There was a family fro...

Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: March 2010
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Life in Maseru doesn't provide the same level of comedic intrigue as life in the village. That's just fact. However, there are some benefits. I pass a supermarket on my way home from work that has 2-ply toilet paper. Electricity and indoor plumbing. Thanks for keeping up with me everybody, and please leave me a comment so I know you're all still alive. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan. Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: June 2009
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 26, 2009. This is the coldest June that I can remember. You win Southern Hemisphere. You win. It's 5:00 pm and I have some pasta sauce simmering away on the stove. I gobbled down the rest of my homeade bread with my supervisor's homemade quince jam, so it will just be pasta to go with the sauce. When Mike and I ate a fresh quince off the tree in the fall, I wrote off quinces (quincii? Is it a fish-like singular-plural? Do I use hyphens correctly? Umm I think that's about it for now. I ho...

Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: Cape Town
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2010/07/cape-town.html
Thursday, July 29, 2010. I just got back from a very needed vacation to Cape Town. Mel and I took a taxi to Bloemfontein, rented a little red Kia Picanto at the airport and started the 1000km (620 mile) drive southwest towards Cape Town. We didn't make it very far (downtown Bloemfontein) before finding a McDonald's to pick up some McNuggets, fries and fountain soda. It tasted like America. We both somehow forgot our cameras when we went out to wine country, but be assured that it was gorgeous and the thr...
