Click on the link to download, cut apart and share! Have a great week.even if it snows! That is too cute!

Free Bag o' Tricks. Thursday, September 18, 2014. Lil' Durk Time: Building Community within the Classroom. Apparently there is a new up-and-coming, Chicago-based rapper. Lil' Durk. How do I know this? Well my students were taking a survey for my Peer Advocate (more about this down below) so that he could learn more about them. One of the survey questions: Who is your favorite artist? As I creeped over their shoulders, I learned that many of them really liked Lil' Durk. Give them a chance to connect with ...

Saturday, October 25, 2014. 2 Months in One Blog Post :). This school year has been hectic to say the least. Sparkling in Seventh: Lung Capacity
http://sparklinginseventh.blogspot.com/2014/12/lung-capacity.html
Sunday, December 7, 2014. How much air can your lungs hold? This is what my seventh graders investigated on Thursday. They took a deep breath, and blew that one breath into a balloon, measured the diameter, and used a graph to convert CM to L. They loved it! Here are some pictures of my crazy kids, who posed just for you guys! Blowing up his balloon. He wanted to make a funny face. Finding the diameter of the balloon. I am in the process of uploading this to TPT if you want to do this lab.

In order to keep the eye on the prize and see that the end is near (for both the teachers and the kids! I created a cute count down bulletin board. I started at 30 days left of school, but we are finally down to only 10. I then cut the letters out to say, "Here's the Scoop! I take down an ice cream scoop every day when school is finished! We have been prepping for the state tests here in NY. They are in 2 weeks! It's hard to believe that they are here already! My students are about as prepared as they are going to be! I better start thinking of something special for the kiddos when those tests are all finished! Who doesn't LOVE Dr. Seuss?

Brownbag Academics: Reflection in the Classroom
http://brownbagacademics.blogspot.com/2014/08/as-teachers-we-know-how-important-it-is.html
Free Bag o' Tricks. Thursday, August 7, 2014. Reflection in the Classroom. As teachers, we know how important it is to reflect. We reflect every time a lesson goes good, bad, terrible, or horrendous. This is usually part of the peer review process where they think about what they did well in their essay and the areas that they struggled in. These window frames are set up t...
