Michael M. Byczek is the great-grandson of Katherine and Edward Talbot. Their daughter Marie was born during the Gilded Age and her parents spent many days at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893 with the family. They lived at 4132 S. Wabash on the southside of Chicago during the Fair. Michael has a collection of photographs of the Rooney and Talbot family members taken in the 1890s. William and Julia Rooney. Thomas and Hannah Talbot. Patrick and Anna Flanagan. Martin and Marie Flanagan.

Michael M. Byczek and his wife Betty introduced their son Michael to the guitar at any early age. He concentrated his training in classical guitar, and later developed skill in the acoustic field. His early performances were associated with Segovia guitar pieces, and later works were numbers by Johnny Cash, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney. He owns a Garcia Spanish guitar and several Fender electric guitars.

Michael M. Byczek is the great-grandson of Edward and Katherine Talbot and has a collection of family photographs including their wedding portrait. Edward Talbot began his railroad career as a clerk, and ran a real estate business in downtown. In the early 1900s, he invested in converting cable cars on some of his real estate parcels. Edward passed away in 1908. His daughter Marie spent her early adult years with his brother-in-law John Rooney in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.

Michael M. Byczek introduced his son Michael and daughter Katie to tennis at the M-T tennis club in Chicago. Katie was four at the time, and she showed good athletic ability right away. Michael played competitively for a number of years. His highest award was during a tournament at Northwestern University as a finalist. Katie played for several years and won a first place trophy at a Chicago tournament. Michael M. Byczek and his wife Betty introduced their son Michael to the guitar at any early age.
