Another day in paradise. Friday, February 18, 2011. Two more weeks until I head back to work. As of now I am feeling ok about it. We have established that I would not be happy as a stay at home mom. I would have liked to have taken the rest of the year off, but 7-8 months off of work is probably too long. It is probably a good thing I have a couple of months between maternity leave and summer! Another day in paradise. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Netflix streaming with all of the Dora, Wonderpets, and Backyardigans you can imagine. I no longer feel guilty about TV. I beat myself up about the amount of TV Daniel watched when I was home all winter nursing Patrick. Guess what, he's fine. Big shocker there. Seriously, what else was he supposed to do all winter stuck in a crappy apartment in Columbus, Ohio? The crock pot, Little Caesars $5 pizza, and my mommy bringing me food. Posted by Kara Hartz.

Another day in paradise. Monday, July 18, 2011. Just putting them here so I can throw away the paper from the doctor and put the stats in the baby book later! Height 25in (25th percentile). This one worries me. She didn't grow at all this month? Pedi said not to take it too seriously because different people measure differently, and maybe she was more wiggly than usual and they couldn't get a good measurement? Weight 16 lb 5 oz (59th percentile). Up 3 pounds in 2 months! Heat 43.5 cm (80th percentile).

Another day in paradise. Friday, February 18, 2011. I'm sure you knew this was coming, as it has been a common theme each time I give birth! Well, I'm mad. With Patrick, I was back into my "size up" dress pants before he was a month old. I remember wearing them to church on Christmas and then to my substitute teaching jobs starting when he was 5 weeks old. I gained about 10 pounds less with him than I did with Leah. Another day in paradise. Sunday, June 26, 2011. I am surprised by how relaxed and content and happy I am this summer. Confused by it, actually, until I realized that the past few summers have been kinda sucky:. 2006: 1st half wrote masters thesis; 2nd half sick and pregnant. But I thought it made me a bad mom to feel that way, so I pretended like I loved it. I didn't.). 2008: Sick and pregnant again. Craptastic Ohio apartment. House in FL that wouldn't sell. Another day in paradise. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Oddly enough, I hoped this would come. I have enjoyed this summer so much that I was afraid I'd be dreading the beginning of the new school year. I feared tears at bedtime on Sunday night, clock-watching at work on Monday, longing glances at photos of my kids on my cell phone.
