1967 GT500 Tribute Project: Trunk Lid
http://www.gt500tribute.com/2013/06/trunk-lid.html
Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Installed the fiberglass trunk lid. The torsion bar works to open the lid but flexes quite a bit. Some installations I have seen a center bracket holding the bar. I will have to research if this will help and whether I can safely put screws in the fiberglass that will hold it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Flip Down Gas Cap installation. Upper Vent Scoops/Air Extractors. Functional Rear Brake Scoops. Rear Valance and Backup Lights. Floor pan drain hole covers.
1967 GT500 Tribute Project: Taillight Panel Assembly
http://www.gt500tribute.com/2013/06/taillight-panel-assembly.html
Sunday, June 23, 2013. The first step to installing the taillights is to assemble the panel separately then install it onto the car. The taillight panel parts. The taillight parts include the Shelby lenses. The chrome bezels and the fiberglass taillight panel which I had painted the same color as the car. Screw the threaded rods into the frame. The bottom part is the 1967/68 Cougar taillight bucket housing and can be purchased from:. Http:/ www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/c7wb-13440-a.html. Dash pad clean up...
1967 GT500 Tribute Project: June 2013
http://www.gt500tribute.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 28, 2013. Flip Down Gas Cap installation. The flip down gas cap itself is tricky to put together. A good video is here:. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? The small screws that attach the gas cap to the car are different than used on standard gas caps. They are recessed and short sheet metal screws. I opted to get some from the local supply shop instead of paying the extra amount online. The filler tube goes in from the outside and remember to put the gasket in between the flange and the car.
1967 GT500 Tribute Project: Rear Valance and Backup Lights
http://www.gt500tribute.com/2013/06/rear-valance-and-backup-lights.html
Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Rear Valance and Backup Lights. Rear valance installed and new backup lights installed. We tried to install the backup lights with the rubber seals but one tore and the other was difficult in fitting the light into the groove. I think they look a bit ugly. Installed the lights without the gaskets. I think they look sharper. Don't think there will be an issue with moisture since the lights are exposed in the back anyway. Back up lights installed. Mustang68.com: sounds great!
http://68redmustang.blogspot.com/2015/01/sounds-great.html
Friday, January 9, 2015. New year, new plan: I just know 2015 will be the year the '68 runs again! I've got mixed feelings about the decline in the number of posts I've been writing about this project in the latter three years: of course it's mainly due to "other things" taking priority, but I also think that my posting style has evolved such that I can cover more progress in each installment. There, that sounds much better! The trend is down. Even though I spent most of the Summer working on the shed.
Mustang68.com: mounting the motor
http://68redmustang.blogspot.com/2015/02/mounting-motor.html
Sunday, February 8, 2015. If you remember, I put the 351W back together over the summer (with a lot of help from my buddy Chuck! But we stopped short of adding the intake manifold and valve covers. And tested the fit with the zinc plated mounting bolts that came with the six cylinder setup. The folks at Mostly Mustangs. Also sorted me out with an appropriate block plate which will replace the six cylinder version. I cleaned up the plate using the previously well-rehearsed wire wheel method. Next we broke...
Mustang68.com: last minute hitch
http://68redmustang.blogspot.com/2012/11/last-minute-hitch.html
Monday, November 19, 2012. I was supposed to be a pair of fenders and the front wheels away from rolling. The fenders went on quite easily (doesn't everything by the fourth time! And I didn't waste much time on the alignment. Now you see it. Nowfast forward a few months, and it's time to move the car.and no rotors. Fortunately it wasn't a big deal to get a pair of replacements. At least it wasn't a big deal after I paid a visit to my buddy Mark at the Vic Hubbard Speed Shop. Magic wand, we managed to bor...
Mustang68.com: February 2014
http://68redmustang.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 21, 2014. The 1969 351W I've been working on for this project has come a very long way since I first set eyes on it back in July 2011. For a start I had to transport it back to the Green Room. Where it sat for about nine months before I moved house. After that another seven months ticked by before I started the tear down on my birthday in 2012. Martinez, California, July 2011. On the weekends, they build their own racing cars. Except the crank. And pistons). I also splurged on a pair of ...

Mike's 76 MGB
Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Just a quick post. Met another fellow MGB owner and snag these pics from his site. Thought I'd share them. Thanks Chris Divine! Monday, October 27, 2008. For my next trick. Here's a before shot. Not that great. Step 1: Remove Valance/Strip Paint. After it was stripped to the bare metal I pounded out a few small dings. There were still some unrepairable divets and dents so I decided to try my hand at bondo. Not as easy as it looks on American Hotrod! Monday, October 20, 2008.
