Today at the hospital, I over heard one of the nurses talking about an elementary school, in Centerville, that is having a lottery for the students in its Chinese Immersion Program. Chinese Immersion? Today was the deadline to apply for the lottery. I went straight to the school and made sure Winter was entered into the lottery. Chinese Immersion? Do I want her in Chinese Immersion? Was the resounding confirmation from all the moms in the room. But how do I help her succeed?

Wednesday, November 23, 2011. The saddest face in the world. Two months old already. At his well child check-up he was 12.2 lbs. And 23.75 inches. That means he has gained more than 4 lbs and grown more than 4 inches! As you can see from the above photo, he has a very expressive face. He is now smiling and 'communicating' with us in a wonderfully interactive manner. I coo, he coos, I smile, he smiles, I pretend to cry, he bursts into tears, I smile, he looks confused.
