Erin was our first guest to arrive into the Basel airport and it was in the middle of the afternoon! I didn’t have to take a 5:50 train to Zurich! We took the 45 minute (public transportation) journey home pulling her huge bag behind us! It was extra large because she jammed in an entire extra suitcase for Jon and I to pack up and send home (super nice, huh? Montreux Switzerland- Chateau de Chillon.

She is getting bigger and is crazier than ever! Jon just said why don't i say "WE have three days off." - -) - i guess because we do! Right now we are jamming to MIKA and getting our apartment ready for guests! Matthew and Heather are on their way to visit for the weekend! We are ready for a weekend of fun with friends! Jon and tara muecke. Life in the motor city. Thursday, July 31, 2008. There isn't too much to update you on but this morning I realized I wrote the first blog entry a year ago (yesterday). It seems crazy to me that we have been on "this journey" for an entire year (or more if you count the trying months we had to go through trying to decide what to do! I am sure glad this week is almost over- it has been a real interesting one! I am trying to convince him to ask for Monday off (comp time)- so we will see!

It is good be in the US surrounded by people who understand and appreciate this day- plus, cooking was much easier this year- - we made mom's famous stuffing (yum!
