February 20, 2016 - Bluebird Houses (10 am - 12 pm). March 12, 2016 - Monopoly Marsh Paddle Ride (12 pm - 4 pm). Join a refuge ranger for a guided paddle ride into Monopoly Marsh. The Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and Headquarters building is now open. The building was completed and open to the public in May of 2014. The building is open Monday - Saturday from 8:30 am to 4 pm March through November. During the winter months, the building switches to being open Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m to 4 pm. Mingo Swamp Friends is sponsoring a fundraiser by selling engraved pavestones. The pavestones may be personalized with your own message such as. In Memory Of", "In Honor Of", etc. ( Any inappropriate language and commercial business names or advertisements are prohibited from the engravings.). The pavestones will then be placed at the start of the Rocky Bluff Nature Trail near the Mingo NWR Visitor Center (overlook behind the visitor center). The cost of the pavestones is $50 each.

Situated on 80 rolling acres along the Mingo creek, Mingo Stables is a full service, private boarding stable offering full and field board. The historic 18th century stone bank barn features 5 - 10X12 box stalls, feed room, tack room, cross tie space and wash areas. A newly renovated 5-stall barn that is located in close proximity to the ring has it's own paddock, tack room, cross tie space and wash areas. Additionally, there is a smaller 2-stall barn and the owners have their own private 3-stall barn.

Mingo Swamp Friends is a non-profit organization and independent group of conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts dedicated to supporting the primary purposes of the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge was established by the U.S. Congress in 1944 to provide food and shelter for migratory waterfowl and to conserve and protect 21,592 acres of bottomland and upland forests of the Mingo Basin and Mingo Wilderness Area. There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot.".
