Raconteuring: September 2008
http://raconteuring.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Random Wikipedia searches today:. Battle of Flodden Field. Thursday, September 4, 2008. I heard a speech about breadmaking. Today, and a comment by the speaker provided me with an image for life. The speaker made a comment that although it can seem like a long time to make bread, a lot of the time is spent waiting: either for the dough to rise, or the bread to bake. Humes Happenings: July 2011
http://sthumes.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2011. I know Christmas is still 4 months away but given my track record on completely sewing projects I figure I should pull out the stocking pattern my mother-in-law gave me and get started. It took about 2 weeks and couple of phone calls to get finished but it is finished and in plenty of time before Christmas and I love how it turned out! Next on my list of projects is bibs, a Halloween costume, and several quilt ideas. Friday, July 8, 2011. Everyday this little guy puts a smile on...

Raconteuring: Trip to LA
http://raconteuring.blogspot.com/2009/04/trip-to-la.html
Sunday, April 26, 2009. I had a fun time visiting Serena and Tucker. After the Midwestern winter, it was great to go to the warmth of California, plus I hadn't seen them since they moved out there a couple of years ago. Thank you both for your hospitality. Outside of the stadium, we got a nice view of LA as well. The water was colder than I expected, although my expectations were off since it is April. I was also curious, so I took a small taste- it was saltier than I expected as well. So far in July.

Raconteuring: Hype
http://raconteuring.blogspot.com/2008/12/hype.html
Sunday, December 7, 2008. This sort of thing isn't specific to Obama or even politics. The Republicans have been looking for the next Ronald Reagan since 1988. Every NBA draft talking heads on TV are looking for the next Michael Jordan. The thing is, it is important to have good role models and people we want to emulate, whether in our chosed profession, or just in life. But, before we anoint someone as the heir to a previous great person, let them be themselves and make their own mark. So far in July.

Raconteuring: November 2008
http://raconteuring.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2008. Dogs and Little Girls. It is always fun to go home for the weekend, but it was especially nice to go home for the holiday since my sisters Miranda and Gillian would be in town with their families. Although I try to call them occasionally, and we chat online more frequently, I don't get to see them very often. Modern communication technology is wonderful, but it doesn't completely replace seeing people in person. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. A Birthday P...

Raconteuring: Restaurants
http://raconteuring.blogspot.com/2008/12/restaurants.html
Monday, December 1, 2008. I think one of the biggest ways people who live in Chicago are spoiled is the wonderful restaurants. Whenever I visit home, whenever we go out to eat, most of the restaurants I went to growing up just aren't as good as I remember them. That and there are wonderful Italian places everywhere, and I've been to several good Greek places. And I really don't go out looking for new places very often, but there are a lot of places I want to try. December 1, 2008 at 11:13 PM. I agree, Mi...

Humes Happenings: An update in Pictures
http://sthumes.blogspot.com/2013/06/an-update-in-pictures_25.html
Tuesday, June 25, 2013. An update in Pictures. Wow Halloween seems like it is almost here again, so I had better get all caught up so here goes. We had such a great time at Halloween visiting Tucker's sister that Henry and I went back for Thanksgiving. and as tradition would have it Tucker and I took Henry out to cut down a Christmas tree the next day. I made an advent calendar with lots of fun activities to do in the countdown for Christmas. Charles was born January 15. He decided not to wait for th...

Raconteuring: And the winner is...
http://raconteuring.blogspot.com/2008/12/and-winner-is.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2008. And the winner is. As some of you know, I have been conducting an informal survey to determine the best apple for eating. While there were lots of good contestants, one eventually stood out. Which leaves Gala. They had the best texture of any apples, and were sweet without being too sweet. And there you have it. Gala were my favorite, until I tried honeycrisp this year.so I have to disagree with you. December 16, 2008 at 11:23 PM. December 17, 2008 at 9:20 AM. So far in July.

Humes Happenings: August 2011
http://sthumes.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 18, 2011. My little boy has started saying "mama" over and over again. I am not sure he was associated it with me yet but he is definitely having fun talking. He crawls all over the house say mamamamama or playing with his tongue and teeth pushing saliva around his mouth. HE is such a cutie. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
