Friday, October 26, 2007. HIV, Jesus, and Love. I just got done emailing a friend, and I realized that I had used my email to him to unload the kind of thing I normally unload on my blog. So, I'm going to put it here too. I just wanted them to know that the Way of Jesus is a radical way of LOVE. and yeah, there's things we do and we don't do, but it's in love. because we love God and because we love others. He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? HIV, Jesus, and Love.

And it started getting really sad, and I started boohooing, and then it got even sadder, and I'm just sitting here alone bawling my eyes out, and then the sadness continues, and I knew that it would, because I know how it ends. Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Grandpa kept live crickets in the refrigerator in five-gallon buckets for fishing. I wondered why they didn’t jump out. I sometimes got up at 4 in the morning to go with him. I was really squeamish about baiting the hook, and grandpa always did it for me. My grandpa owned a place in Mexico Beach, Florida. We drove down there a couple of times for vacation when I was a kid. If Grandpa hadn’t let us use his place, we would never have gone on vacation. My grandpa loved his cows....

I think maybe, sometimes in Honduras it is hard for people to see that; to recognize that God is faithful, when they are surrounded by so much poverty, and hardship, and hopelessness. Because of the poverty in Agua Fria, the kids up there weren't going to be able to celebrate this day set aside especially for them, so we decided to help them celebrate! With little gift bags, lots of candy and a pinata we set off from the office for the jungle. Now, if only I had a video of that. maybe next time.

To top it all off, after hours of fun at Chiminike we took the kids to McDonald's and filled them up on hamburgers and french fries! Completely tuckered out and now with full bellies the 21 content little faces laid down and slept as we journed back in the big yellow school bus to our oasis in the mountains. The best part of the trip you ask? Last Thursday the MDs were finally able to wean Aleyda off of the ventilator...
