What is the one thing that is going to matter about my life after I die? The only thing that matters is if I pleased God in the way that I lived. So for the past few weeks during my daily Bible reading or just when I’m letting my mind wander- I’ve been asking myself: How can my life be pleasing to God? What else pleases God?

Left of the Rising Sun. My Life as an Alaskan Bush Teacher. Friday, August 5, 2011. It's amazing how two districts can be so different. So far, I am super impressed by NSBSD. They seem to generally have their act together. More than that though, they aren't so enamored with themselves that they forget to be normal people. That's about it, though. North Slope beats them in every other category. First off, let's just address the money issue. The pay with NSBSD is better, for both salary and added duties.

Friday, 24 December 2010. Well, it's been a crazy few weeks but we've made it to the end. First we had a quick four day vacation, then my mom came to visit (which was fantastic! Then we got to host Chris and Anna. We've had about 4 Christmas parties and are still expecting a nice big meal with church on the day after Christmas. Monday, 25 April 2011. Lost 2.5 pounds this week. That's a total of 5.5 lbs in 3 weeks. Yay! Will start week 3 of couch to 5k this week. I stayed behind a week because I wasn't feeling well after last week. We're planning a royal wedding watch party for Friday and then Jed's sister gets here on Monday. Thursday, 25 February 2010. The precariousness of packing. I am very happy to say that I am finally getting to think about packing for real this time! Find a way to fill my list of things left to worry about. In reality I have no reason to worry. Will it really matter if all of my yarn doesn't make it into my suitcase? Or will everything fall to pieces if I don't get to make that last Walmart. Friday, 5 February 2010. We were finally able to complete our visa application yesterday. HOORAY!
