About me, my paintings, and this blog. Contact/Inquiries about painting purchase. December 3, 2015. All the best – HD. New painting – Unter dem Ortstock. December 2, 2015. Two paintings posted in a week! So, I lovingly bundled up my motley crew of paint babies and happily booted them out the door with a kiss and best wishes. Sending them out among strangers on a sort of money making venture had me questioning for the thousandth time whether. As usual, thanks for looking! Happy Wednesday – HD. The lovely ...

Wednesday, May 21, 2014. John 1" 36x36, Oil on Canvas. John 1" 36x36, Oil on Canvas. I have so much to share but I'll try to put that in another blog post in the future. Needless to say I learned so much at the workshop I attended with Mitchell Albala. I learned more about neutrals and the importance of having a high key "zinger" or (brighter color) that is supported by the neutrals. It's like a light bulb went off in my mind. Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Oil Painting of Judas Tree (final). 18x24, Oil on Canvas. This piece took several weeks to get the detail and the layers but I finally finished it today. It's been in my mind for so long and don't know where to start. Some of you might be thinking, "Why Judas? Looking for the God we want not the God who truly exists? How many of us would rather die in our pride and guilt than ask for help from the only One who can truly give us hope? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Oil Paintin...

Monday, June 29, 2015. Wisp" 16x20, Oil on Gessobord. Wisp" 16x20, Oil on Gessobord. I love trying for the contrasts you see in the sky and those filaments of wisp that distill the light and color. I pushed the blue until it had that very cool crisp blue (from cobalt) and then blended it with the red to make a deeper purple for the background cloud leading up to the cadmium yellow light. The build up took several weeks. Labels: blue and red. Dawn waters baker skies. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
