Living The Dream: October 2012
http://winstarrounder.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 11, 2012. Weatherford (September 22 and October 6). I haven't had time to update this like I should. In September I lost $300 at the Weatherford game and this month I won $310. Not a good way to play. I hit a two-outer early in the night to prevent a re-buy and was able to continue to build on my stack throughout. I won the final two pots of the night that resulted in $100 extra dollars that I wouldn't have had. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Have Blog, Will Travel.

Living The Dream: Poker Goals (Monetary & Otherwise)
http://winstarrounder.blogspot.com/2015/02/poker-goals-monetary-otherwise.html
Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Poker Goals (Monetary and Otherwise). Listening to my recent podcast hosts, I was reminded that setting poker goals is a good way to start the year off. Although we are in the early part of February I have only played one session of poker, so setting a goal at this point isn’t cheating too much, but it does make things a bit easier since I am $350 up without ever having made my first objective. To begin with, this is not the first year I have ever set a goal for poker playing.

Living The Dream: December 2012
http://winstarrounder.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Last Saturday was the final game in Weatherford for the year, and I ended on a high for 2012. Winning $210 for the evening put me in second place for most money won this year among the group who plays in my favorite home cash game. A guy named Brandon earned more than $2,200 this year and I finished with a profit of $1,690 in a total of 12 games. Friday, December 7, 2012. Casa de Cook ($20 re-buy tournament). I want to start keeping track of who re-buys, who goes out when, a...

Living The Dream: Thinking Poker Podcasts
http://winstarrounder.blogspot.com/2015/02/thinking-poker-podcasts.html
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Since I have won a few home game tournaments lately, I have been wanting to hear poker discussion more among my friends, and luckily I found a website that my server at work allows me to access (because it is poker related) that has podcasts. I listened to two posts today and took a few notes from them that I thought were worthy of talking about here. So what do I mean when I say I'd rather have 7-4 suited (besides it being my favorite non-premium hand)? View my complete profile.

Right, the jerusalem. from the ‘jerusales tulipesias’ genus… day eleven. May 8, 2010. Yeah, so nevermind on that whole ‘let’s try and get caught up by putting two days into one’ thing. An evening stroll through a neighborhood bazaar ended any chance of that happening. So instead, we’ll just continue to roll with the ‘one day behind’ format. Doesn’t really change things for you, does it? But moving on to things that actually pertain to the trip. Once inside the Old City, you are inundated with a barrage o...

Living The Dream: September 2014
http://winstarrounder.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22, 2014. Never needing a win more in my life because of financial situations at home, I came away from my monthly poker game in Weatherford $140 richer. Saturday was a day of emotional swings, and my poker game was probably the most calming part. The morning started out with Emery having a soccer game. This is our third attempt at soccer with her, in only 7 years of life, and while she has gotten better it is still not a sport she shows much interest in. Once I received the new part ab...

zechariah 9:9… day twelve | travelogue
https://thejamesmiller.wordpress.com/2010/05/09/zechariah-99-day-twelve
Zechariah 9:9… day twelve. May 9, 2010. But in all seriousness, the group has been great. I haven’t had a chance to get to know everyone overly well, but I definitely feel as if I’ve clicked with a couple of handfuls of them. Who knows, perhaps I’ll run into some of them in, say, early 2011? But it’s nice to have a keepsake that will remind me of the people I spent two great weeks with. Even if most of them will have no eyes. Certain events transpired, but also of. While in Bethlehem, we also saw the she...

Deuteronomy 34… day seven. May 4, 2010. And we made it to Jordan. And the photo above proves it! Today’s post is long; fair warning). Really, it’s been a pretty relaxing day. We’ll get to the specifics later but to this point the only frustration we’ve encountered was when well, I’ll just let you watch for yourself. Day Six with Erin. No doubt, James will. More about the historical significance of Jerash later, but for now, I’ll just give you some of my personal highlights. As an ancient city there a...

To the valley of the crescent moon… day nine. May 6, 2010. Annnndd let’s try this again. I seem to now have a dedicated Internet connection, though I’m still lacking significantly in the speed department. Oh And we made it to Jerusalem. But enough about the next four days, how about the last two? In a word: wejustspentthelast48hoursseeingsomeoftheworldsmostimportantsites. Don’t bother looking that up in a dictionary. It’s a word, okay? The clouds) but that one probably beats them all. Once you’ve walked ...

Living The Dream: Planning For The Weatherford Tournament
http://winstarrounder.blogspot.com/2014/07/planning-for-weatherford-tournament.html
Monday, July 21, 2014. Planning For The Weatherford Tournament. My buddy Joey from the Weatherford game I play each month sent me the blind schedule for the upcoming end-of-the-fiscal-year tournament in August. The receipt of his message has stirred anticipation for the tournament and I have started working out strategy for the night. The tournament will be held on August 23 and the blind structure is as follows:. There will be approximately $158,000 in chips at play and I will begin with $8,000. Should ...
