Adopt the World: Ridiculous Gift
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2014/12/ridiculous-gift.html
Sunday, December 21, 2014. What’s to be gotten. The Benz and the cottage. The gaudy gold ring. The friends at the office. The games at the club. So what would be novelty. Aye there’s the rub. He works killing hours. The kids miss their Dad. But he must deliver. Things he never had. The eyes show a redness. The shoulders a hunch. And wife is a stranger. But for the odd lunch. It’s peace that he needs. And time for the soul. For all the big questions. On how to be whole. A Baby the answer. Through All of It.

Adopt the World: The Carters
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-carters.html
Friday, May 1, 2015. Where are you headed Friend? Holding your precious strange cache. Night proved a damp one. The kind you must hate. Hiding yourself and your stash. You see it all each day. Good haps and bad. Wisdom obtained on the race. They wear you right down. Shows in the marks on your face. Women are at this too. Sad 'tis to say. Muttering their simplest of song. Eyes cast to sidewalk. In dreams of the past. Constables urge "Move along". Anything wrong in the head. To just make it through.

Adopt the World: Love of Christ
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2015/05/love-of-christ.html
Sunday, May 3, 2015. I can't contain this thing inside. It grows with each new morn. And helps me see the needs so real. Of lonely and forlorn. Of hurting and self-loathing. In town, at work, next door. Of all the ones in need of Christ. I never saw before. It makes no sense to plead the case. Of those I never knew. But pray I do, and comfort too. For truly Lord, it's You. You walk these streets and offer smiles. And help the old to cope. You hug a child and calm the wild. And give the hungry hope.

Adopt the World: Small Talk Yields Big Dividends
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2015/04/small-talk-yields-big-dividends.html
Saturday, April 11, 2015. Small Talk Yields Big Dividends. I have simply come out walking. And our paths have crossed by chance. And you offer up a smile. As if to pass. And I volley with a comeback. Nice to see those robins 'round". Just as one trots cross the turf. And stabs the grass. And discussion then flows freely. You so wanted to engage. But you simply had no fare. To make it start. Seems your wife is resting bedside. From a stroke that rocked your world. I am listening Friend. Through All of It.

Adopt the World: He's Glad
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2014/05/hes-glad.html
Saturday, May 17, 2014. The good news comes. And none is more elated. Than One you thought too stern. To share your joy. Come to Him delighting. You couldn't hear Him. But He is Father. Words we use quite glibly. And He desires the best. To come your way. And all the while you've. Called Him hard Taskmaster. As if the dues. And sweats you had to pay. In your upwards estimation. And give to God the credit. And know that He's behind. And wills and speaks. The best to come to you. Short Reads in the Son.

Adopt the World: Down But Not Out
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2014/10/down-but-not-out.html
Saturday, October 11, 2014. Down But Not Out. It was Samuel Rutherford who said that he was so thankful God never changed. Forever just, equitable, longsuffering and true. The Scottish preacher was well aware of all his vacillations of mood, and he was somewhat ashamed. Rutherford was forbidden to preach in his beloved Anwoth in the south-west, and was put in exile in Aberdeen in the north-east. Religious authorities there watched him with a censorious eye, ever ready to blow the whistle. In a glorious q...

Adopt the World: Musings of Messiah...Try to Understand
http://adopttheworld.blogspot.com/2014/05/musings-of-messiahtry-to-understand.html
Sunday, May 18, 2014. Musings of Messiah.Try to Understand. You have no idea. But try anyway, would you? I took myself to that garden, that familiar prayer garden, ‘neath the olives. Brought my buddies along. Asked three of them to come, sit closer in the cold and darkness. They tried, bless ‘em, but soon fell asleep. How often when people are overwhelmed by circumstances and the fast pace of events. How often do they cloud up and doze off out of sheer self-defense. Finally, over and above all the sweats...
