Kevin took his new canoe out with the kids and one of the boys from his boy scout troop. As they were paddling past someone's back yard, a man stopped him and offered to take their picture. They spent about 3 hours paddling up our local creek as far as they could go before it ended at a dam. Our first outing in the canoe had actually been a few weeks earlier, while my dad was here.

Simple Joys in Life. Are we there yet? Friday, August 20, 2010. We went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. Again. We have a zoo membership, so going to the zoo is not as exciting as it used to be. Especially not in the middle of summertime heat. But we went with friends, which is always fun. And we saw some of the animals that we don't normally see. The kangaroos were out and hopping around.
