Monson Family Farm

Welcome to our crazy life! Wednesday, August 05, 2015. A Sentimental Summer Story. Summer is about over for us. The kids start school soon and things are bound to get more hectic. While I’m excited for a new school year with new experiences, I’m going to miss having the kids around. We’ve enjoyed doing things together like playing cards, camping, hiking, swimming, going to the movies or just being lazy. None of it sounds super exciting, but it was really nice. I just like my family. Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Monson Family Farm: Trying Something New……Again.

http://www.monsonfamilyfarm.blogspot.com/2015/05/trying-something-newagain.html

Welcome to our crazy life! Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Trying Something New……Again. I put my scale away today. My weight has definitely increased since I stopped doing aerobic/functional fitness in February 2013. I’m about 20 lbs heavier than I was back then and that makes me unhappy. Some of the weight is muscle and I feel stronger than I have in years, but that number on the scale still haunts me. The number on the scale can make or break my day. Every Single. Morning. I can’t tell you exactly why I p...

http://www.monsonfamilyfarm.blogspot.com/2015/02/im-not-that-mom.html

Welcome to our crazy life! Friday, February 27, 2015. I'm Not That Mom. I don't bake cookies. I don't do crafty Pinterest worthy activities. I don't have a spotless home. I don't volunteer in class. I don't set up elaborate play dates or parties. I don't coddle, baby, or over praise. Cook healthy meals with a variety of foods to ensure they are nourished properly. Clean enough to enjoy my home, allow them to be messy and assign them chores. Adults I'd want to hang out with. Im Not That Mom.

Monson Family Farm: Four Months

http://www.monsonfamilyfarm.blogspot.com/2014/12/four-months.html

Welcome to our crazy life! Monday, December 08, 2014. Four months from now, I'll be in Southern California preparing to compete in the 2015 Masters Nationals against at least 7 other women of the same age. If all goes well and I get strong enough to reach my goals of 60kg Snatch and 70kg C&J, I may actually place and take home a medal. Here's the thing, I suck right now. With only 4 months left, I'm really worried. I am beginning to think I've made a huge mistake. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Compton Family Blog: July 2014

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 20, 2014. Logan and his cousin Connor. Logan is not quite sure what to think of this place. I saw this face a lot when I was busy taking care of the other kids. The kids went right to the dirt. We didn't have the shovels unpacked yet, so they found a random spoon on the ground to use as a shovel. And still more dirt. Madison taking a rest by the fire. Madison enjoying the waves. Fun with the cousins. Cora and Madison drawing in the sand. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. 4th of July and more.

Compton Family Blog: November 2014

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 18, 2014. In October, the kids and I met up with my brother and his kids at Fog Willow pumpkin patch. Logan wasn't quite sure what to think of the hay and I think the goat scared him at first, but he later seemed to enjoy seeing and pointing at the animals. Instead of carving this year, we decided to paint our pumpkins! The first weekend of September we took a day trip to the beach with some friends. Clark had a blast in the sand and Madison loved the water, the sand, and running ar...

Compton Family Blog: April 2014

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 28, 2014. Later that afternoon, Madison and I went on a mommy/daughter adventure to the Easter party at Madison's preschool. The highlight for Madison was the bounce houses. I didn't think she would be able to make it over the wall on the obstacle course, but she did. I think the obstacle course was her favorite. (I kindof wanted to go on it too, but it was just for the kids). Later that evening we headed out to my cousins house for a family get together and Easter dinner.

Compton Family Blog: January 2015

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 22, 2015. December was also the month of Madison's first dance recital. She was a mouse in the Nutcracker and she loved it. Her grandma bought the DVD of the show and Madison loves watching it and trying to do all the different dances in it. We spent Christmas eve at my parents house with all my siblings and their families and Clayton's parents and brother came over to our house on Christmas day for lunch. The rest of the day we just spent enjoying our family and our new presents. Trave...

Compton Family Blog: January

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/january.html

Sunday, February 22, 2015. January was spent getting back in the school routine and enjoying all the new toys from Christmas! Clark's first day of Sunbeams! The kids enjoying their new jammies from Christmas. A picture with all 3 kids looking at the camera and smiling. Logan is starting to take a liking to trains, just like his brother. Clark started really getting into jigsaw puzzles this month. Logan being very persistent in trying to get to the computer power button. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Compton Family Blog: August 2014

Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Madison's First Day of School. A couple weeks ago Madison started Kindergarten! Monday, August 11, 2014. Madison on the carousel. She felt like a big girl riding all by herself. Madison thought she would like the roller coaster, but decided she didn't after a couple times around. We had been on something similar at Marine World as a family and she liked it.but I think it was a little more scary riding by herself. One of my favorite Clark smiles. The end of the day ice cream coma.

Compton Family Blog: March 2014

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 30, 2014. Logan playing with one of his favorite toys. Clark actually loves wearing this pirate hat, but this time he wanted to see how it looked on Logan. Logan exploring the grass with his brother. Do you see a trend? Here are some pictures of her spaghetti face from years past. Monday, March 24, 2014. Here is Madison while we were waiting for the show to begin, not wanting to take her eye off the dolphin pool in case the dolphins came out when she wasn't looking. Sunday, March 9, 2014.

Compton Family Blog: February through May

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/february-through-may.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Madison loves to learn. She got a kids almanac from the library and loved reading about all the things in it. My Grandma passed away a few months ago. Here is a picture of the kids trying on some of her jewelry. Here are the kids getting their bedtime book with Grandma. I am so grateful for her and her willingness to always help out with the kids. Logan is also really loving books. Madison ran in her first 5k fun run. She made it the entire way! I love these kids! Subscribe to: Pos...

Compton Family Blog: May 2014

Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Clark driving (or I guess it would be piloting) the helicopter. Madison and Clark standing by the wheel of the garbage truck. If we come back next year I wonder how much they will have grown. I also wonder at what age Clark will end up being taller than Madison. :). Looking out the school bus window. I think this was one of their favorites. They had to climb up a ladder to get to the crane. Clark was a little unsure of the height at first. Madison pretending to dig up dirt.

Compton Family Blog: November

http://comptonfamblog.blogspot.com/2014/12/november.html

Tuesday, December 9, 2014. We celebrated the first day of November by doing a Halloween craft. Madison loves crafts, and I saw this reduced price at Michaels on Halloween day. The instructions were a little too much, but she preferred to do it her own way anyway. Madison has a class stuffed animal named Buster and she gets so excited when her name gets picked to take him home. I came when I heard "mommy, help" and saw this - Clark stuck in a box. It made me smile, so I captured the moment. The kids sure ...

Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Southern California New Years 2012. This year the American Fork Marching Band performed in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California. We decided to take the whole family down to watch Sarah march in the parade on New Years Day. We had a great time doing all our favorite things to do in California. . . Our next stop was food . . . we do have our priorities right. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe, which is always a fun experience. One of our adventures was to go to Santa Monica Pier...

Monson Memoirs

A look into our everyday life. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Happy 2nd Birthday Pace! We kept things simple for Pace's birthday. We decided to have cake and ice cream at our house and invite his friend from across the street. I did make a train birthday cake, which was a lot of work, but totally worth it. He loved it. He opened his birthday presents after his friend left and he loved them. Licking out the bowl. He makes this beard look good. Admiring his new book. Loves it before it is even out of the package.

Kreg, Tina, Carson, Carter, Sierra, Bristol and Kaden Monson. Saturday, August 30, 2008. Carson at college in Hawaii! What I can't figure out is how I have a son in college, I was sure it was only a few years ago that I left college. We had a great time while we were there, we went to the Hukilau beach, Waimea, Polynesian Cuture Center, Haliewa (Several times), Dole Plantation and Wal-Mart (Several times) trying to get him set in his dorm room. I hated leaving him - but. he's gonna have so much fun!
