Monson Memoirs

A look into our everyday life. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Happy 2nd Birthday Pace! We kept things simple for Pace's birthday. We decided to have cake and ice cream at our house and invite his friend from across the street. I did make a train birthday cake, which was a lot of work, but totally worth it. He loved it. He opened his birthday presents after his friend left and he loved them. Licking out the bowl. He makes this beard look good. Admiring his new book. Loves it before it is even out of the package.

A look into our everyday life. Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Mountains of the East vs Mountains of the West. So it worked out for our family that Jake could actually get leave for our family vacation this year! Monson Family Reunion Highlights. Corn hole tournament. This was a lot of fun and Jake and Christian won the whole tournament (don't ask me how those two rigged it so they could be on the same team). Visiting the historic sites in Cades Cove. The oldest cabin in the park (that still exists). A cool tun...

Monson Memoirs: April 2015

http://www.monsonfamilymemoirs.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

A look into our everyday life. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. The Easter Bunny Came to visit Pace! Grant fell asleep during the hunt (it was just too much excitement for him). It was also General Conference. This Easter weekend, so we got to enjoy that. It helped us focus a little more on Christ and his resurrection. Although it is much harder to get everything out of it with two babies needing us (last time Pace had nap times that coincided with the sessions, not anymore). 6 weeks old (now he is 7).

Monson Memoirs: January 2015

A look into our everyday life. Friday, January 23, 2015. A Track Suit and Orange Marmalade. Another reason I like the cold is because I get to bundle Pace up. He has lots of cute outfits (thanks everyone), but this track suit is one of my favorites. Yes, he has no fear of climbing on chairs (despite a few falls). The marmalade after soaking overnight and adding the sugar. We got 6 jars (one not shown). The pastries we took home. No this is not from the bakery (this is Jake's cheese cake). It is always fu...

Life in the Smallest State: August 2014

http://eastcoastchesleys.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Life in the Smallest State. Friday, August 29, 2014. Hehe, John on the drive down. Good thing he never looks at the blog. This is the Biltmore Estate. It is the largest house in America and is still owned by the Vanderbilt family. Biltmore is in Asheville, NC. It was my first time in North Carolina. It's so pretty! The back side. It is 179,000 sq ft. It has 35 bedrooms and 43 bathrooms. 250 rooms total. One of the many gardens. Ellie is a lot bigger now. She can sit up really well. Jake and Pace man!

Kyler and Jeanette: Cay-no Park

http://kylerandjeanette.blogspot.com/2015/08/cay-no-park.html

About us, and our exciting lives. As part of our recent trip to Oregon (more posts are forthcoming! We headed up to Mount Saint Helens. Whenever I've gone to the mountain, I've always done things are the south side (ape cave, hiking to the summit, etc). I'm not sure I had ever been to the visitor's centers on the northern side. It was awesome! We started out going to the Visitor's Center. In retrospect, we should have done the hike and then. I would say this place is a must-visit, especially. Was touchab...

http://eastcoastchesleys.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Life in the Smallest State. Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Along the trail to the falls several other waterfalls can be seen. We saw 4 other waterfalls. The book said there were about a dozen, but some were off the beaten path. Since our hike was already longer than we had planned we just stuck to the trail. The waterfall was beautiful and was definitely worth the walk. I'm sure it's much more impressive in the spring. Monday, September 15, 2014. Monday, September 8, 2014. Ellie's first ocean swim! http://eastcoastchesleys.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Life in the Smallest State. Monday, December 22, 2014. Onota Lake and Natural Bridge- Only 3 months late! We've taken Walter to the beach and we knew that he liked water, but he had never actually gone swimming. John's main goal for this camp out was to find a place that would let Walter swim. The East Coast can be pretty discriminatory towards dogs sometimes, especially in swimming places. It's lame. You'd think they could designate at least one beach as a dog beach! The Marble Dam for the Quarry.

SO of course it has been like 3 months since I've posted. geez, blogging is like running a marathon with no practice for me.you wait until that day to actually blog and its the hardest thing ever.everyone else is about 5 miles ahead because you haven't been practicing at all (or blogging at all) and then you finally finish and it took you lik. Welcome to our crazy life! Wednesday, August 05, 2015. A Sentimental Summer Story. Summer is about over for us. The kids start school soon and things are bound to get more hectic. While I’m excited for a new school year with new experiences, I’m going to miss having the kids around. We’ve enjoyed doing things together like playing cards, camping, hiking, swimming, going to the movies or just being lazy. None of it sounds super exciting, but it was really nice. I just like my family. Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Southern California New Years 2012. This year the American Fork Marching Band performed in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California. We decided to take the whole family down to watch Sarah march in the parade on New Years Day. We had a great time doing all our favorite things to do in California. . . Our next stop was food . . . we do have our priorities right. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe, which is always a fun experience. One of our adventures was to go to Santa Monica Pier...

Kreg, Tina, Carson, Carter, Sierra, Bristol and Kaden Monson. Saturday, August 30, 2008. Carson at college in Hawaii! What I can't figure out is how I have a son in college, I was sure it was only a few years ago that I left college. We had a great time while we were there, we went to the Hukilau beach, Waimea, Polynesian Cuture Center, Haliewa (Several times), Dole Plantation and Wal-Mart (Several times) trying to get him set in his dorm room. I hated leaving him - but. he's gonna have so much fun!
