Moose Bay Muses

Monday, April 2, 2018. A new month, a new goal. I have two quilt retreats that I am attending later this month, so my One Monthly Goal is going to an easy one. I like my Foothills top so much that I decided to add two more rows to make it more usable. I had to order a little more of my sashing fabric to have enough for the new rows. Then I decided I would add a border, so I had to order even more.this time a ordered a lot more- just in case- lol! I'm making this quilt my One Monthly Goal. After outlining...

Moose Bay Muses: September 2014

http://moosebaymuses.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 28, 2014. September UFO: done and done! Yikes-how can it be the end of September already? I almost forgot that I hadn't finished a UFO for this month. I had planned on getting one of my UFO tops quilted up at the beginning of the month, but that never happened (no surprise there! I made this little wool mat several years ago. In the pattern, there is also a Christmas cat and an Easter cat. Yes, I have a bin labeled Fun Little Projects- haha! Cat Season: Simple Woolen Ornaments #416.

Moose Bay Muses: February 2015

http://moosebaymuses.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 27, 2015. My February UFO finished- yay! Pattern by Bonnie Sullivan for Simply Vintage magazine. I was lucky to find this old Thimbleberries fabric in my stash- perfect backing! Awful photo, but you perhaps can make out the echo quilting I did around the wool applique? Yesterday afternoon I taught a class using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star ruler. We had lots of fun and everyone left with at least one star made. This one is Deb's before trimming- love the Edyta Sitar fabrics! To get the cl...

Moose Bay Muses: December 2014

http://moosebaymuses.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 30, 2014. As usual, I am down to the wire with my UFO finish for the month! But, I am pretty. Proud that I finished at least one (okay, probably just. One) each month- twelve quilt tops out of the UFO bin- yay! There was a little sunlight and even less snow, so I decided to take photos outside- wish it was still warm too! Over the River and Through the Woods pattern by Crabapple Hill Studio. So it was about time to bring it out of the bottom of the bin and make it into a quilt! I wish t...

Moose Bay Muses: Some Slow Goings, Going On...

http://moosebaymuses.blogspot.com/2015/08/some-slow-goings-going-on.html

Sunday, August 9, 2015. Some Slow Goings, Going On. I'm not sure where this week went- it all seemed to go by so fast! I didn't do much sewing because of an enormous amount of time spent in my car (lots of shopping opportunities though). I'm keeping up with the Temecula Summer Sampler. These are the week 9 blocks. And I used my teeny, tiny reject Lemoyne Stars to make a teeny, tiny table runner. Hand quilted, no less! I haven't decided where it will reside- maybe on the sideboard in the dining room.

Moose Bay Muses: Midweek Update

http://moosebaymuses.blogspot.com/2015/05/midweek-update.html

Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Later today I will be teaching my coin purse class- I can't wait to see what fabrics everyone selected for their project! I know we will have a lot of fun. It's already been a busy week with my stitching group on Monday, and the monthly Breezy Point sew-in yesterday, Somehow I managed to finished up clue 10. Of the ThimbleCreek mystery. And gradually got to work on the next batch of checkerboard four patches. And finally finished up clue 11. Karen in Breezy Point. Barbara Brackma...

G'nT Sisters: August 2015

http://ginandthreadsisters.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, 2 August 2015. Our G'nT get-together was very exciting this month as Judy and I both had quilts on display as part of the Australian Applique Guild's display at this year's. Victorian Quilters Showcase exhibition. I had my Antique Wedding Sampler (re-visited). Lynne, Judy, Me and Sofie. A Quilt Angel showing the label for my AWS. And Judy had her 'Bunny Love'. Then it was back to Judy's and a case of 'Occupy the Dining Table! It's amazing how we can manage to keep track of what belongs to who.

http://lotsmooredesigns.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html

Sample Edge to Edge and Other Designs. Sunday, 17 July 2016. It's Jolly July and winter is here. Wow, what an amazing autumn early winter we have had. Fancy having 19 degrees (C) in July for goodness sake. Unfortunately for our farmers it's not so good - drought from summer right through to winter is a bit hard on them. It's been a month of a couple of finishes for our Tuesday Chat group. At long last we finished the Grandmother's Garden hexagon quilt that we chose to finish off some 4 (? In this photo y...

QuiltingLotsmooredesigns: Pretty in Pink Baby Quilt

http://lotsmooredesigns.blogspot.com/2016/10/pretty-in-pink-baby-quilt.html

Sample Edge to Edge and Other Designs. Tuesday, 25 October 2016. Pretty in Pink Baby Quilt. Love the little pops of yellow. The backing fabric I found in my stash too, so that was an extra bonus. Gives two sides to this quilt. Loved the wavy stitch on my new Janome 9400. It looks great the way it stands out on the white squares and adds a little texture. Short post as just get too tired these days. Have a great week and will catch you again some time. Thanks for coming back to see me. Quilt as you go.

Sample Edge to Edge and Other Designs. Thursday, 23 June 2016. Has been made on grandson's quilt. Just loving the look of it and it is gobbling up lots of the scraps and stash. I also bought some new fabric (Shock, Horror! But it got cut up and straight into the basket of strips for this quilt. Love that. Bradley's favourite colour is green just like his Nana, so I have lots of lovely leftovers that can go into this quilt. He does not take after his Nana.lol. Really loving the way it is coming out.
