Runnin' With the Schmidts. Monday, May 30, 2011. Having a Heart for Adoption. This is an extremely LONG post. If you're reading just to find out what's going on with the chili cook-off and silent auction, scroll to the bottom. Otherwise, don't say I didn't warn you! Not necessarily. Maybe it means becoming a missionary and serving at an orphanage caring for orphans. Maybe it means continuously being in prayer for adoptive families in their journeys. Or maybe it means financially partnering wi...I think I...

Runnin' With the Schmidts: April 2011
http://runningwiththeschmidts.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Runnin' With the Schmidts. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Man, I can't believe it's here already. Four years old! My little boy is growing up so fast - it's almost sickening to think he'll be in kindergarten soon, then grade school, middle school, high school - AAHHHH! Okay, let's slow down and live in the moment! Oh, Will.my first born. To take a phrase from a friend - "You made me a momma! Such a sweet boy! I love his energy - the boy never stops! I love his servant heart. He gets that from his daddy....

A little bit of us. The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17. September 30, 2011. Laney Rose started preschool and she LOVES it! Finally it is her turn to go to school, she was so ready. She walked into the classroom on the 1st day without even looking back. I had to ask her to come back to give me a hug and kiss. We are so proud of her. What a blessing you are "bug".

Runnin' With the Schmidts: Gripped By Fear
http://runningwiththeschmidts.blogspot.com/2012/10/gripped-by-fear_11.html
Runnin' With the Schmidts. Thursday, October 11, 2012. I have flown all my life. My dad was in the Air Force (yes, I'm a military brat and unfortunately I live up to the latter part of that title more often than I'd like to admit). He did multiple tours overseas which means I am no rookie when it comes to checking my bags. I don't remember ever. Or the cabin becomes depressurized? Or the tail breaks off? So I was saying, or had I gotten there yet? The ground thousands of feet behind? We would live throug...

Runnin' With the Schmidts: November 2012
http://runningwiththeschmidts.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Runnin' With the Schmidts. Thursday, November 1, 2012. Okay, so I know Halloween can be a gray area for Christians.lots of people on both sides of the fence and some who can't decide which side to be on so they ride in the middle. Personally, I love the holiday. Love the origins? Not so much. But like many holidays, the origins have been convoluted and what we celebrate leaves barely a shadow of the original intentions visible. So what I'm saying is.I love to dress up! Well, you can't call it my. He was ...

Runnin' With the Schmidts: Fishin' with Papa
http://runningwiththeschmidts.blogspot.com/2012/10/fishin-with-papa.html
Runnin' With the Schmidts. Wednesday, October 24, 2012. First steps out on the dock to fish with Papa. Just two dudes on a dock waitin' for a fish. Fishing with daddy.one of the best places to be. And my all-time favorite. Just steals your heart, doesn't it? Even though you can only see a fraction of this kid's gigantic head (seriously, I've had to pass on some of his shirts because they don't fit over his noggin), the way he's snuggled into my grandpa just makes me smile. I wanna hode da powe! So all-in...
