3 Brasingtons & A Van: June 2010
http://3brasingtonsandvan.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. George suggested that I elaborate on my previous post, "The Fruits of Breakfast" to include the local food that we find and enjoy along our way. Sounds like a good idea to me, since we feel like we're eating our way across the continent. So I'll list those at the bottom of each post, like so:. Local foods we've eaten on the Bruce Peninsula:. 3 Brasingtons and A Van. Friday, June 25, 2010. The Fruits of Breakfast. The air smells sweet with fruit. But we ...

3 Brasingtons & A Van: October 2010

Friday, October 29, 2010. After lunch, we walked out on the Huntington Beach Pier. From the pier, we had a great view of all the surfers. Those dots in the water are surfer's heads, waiting for a good wave. George catches a good wave . . . We spent a wonderful afternoon in Huntington Beach, and "Uncle Jim" even bought a Huntington Beach kitty-cat T-shirt for Adalaya, who shares her love of cats with Shelly. Thank you, Jim and Shelly, for lunch and showing us the highlights of your beautiful town! LA felt...

3 Brasingtons & A Van: September 2010
http://3brasingtonsandvan.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 28, 2010. We ventured out to "The Lost Coast" of California for a few days - an aptly named, extremely remote part of the coast. The road out to The Lost Coast was the worst. We have seen; steep, narrow, and seemingly one continuous pot-hole, sometimes filled, sometimes not. Quite the adventure in our van! And these more common creatures were grazing by the sea. We also stumbled upon this labyrinth in the sand. You meet all kinds of folks on The Lost Coast! 3 Brasingtons and A Van.

3 Brasingtons & A Van: March 2011
http://3brasingtonsandvan.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2011. We had quite the family reunion when we reached South Carolina. The grand-mamas were eagerly awaiting our arrival. Grana and Lala, doing what they do best. We also saw many, many more cousins. Elizabeth and her family. Adalaya's 1st cousins in South Carolina. They wanted to come live in the van with us! Rosanne threw us a "Welcome Home" party. We showed folks our route on the map. And showed off the patch blanket. We saw more family when we finally made it to North Carolina.

3 Brasingtons & A Van: Homeward Bound!
http://3brasingtonsandvan.blogspot.com/2013/05/homeward-bound.html
Thursday, March 24, 2011. Part I : Natural Wonders. After leaving Baja, and essentially coming back into America after 3 1/2 months in the Spanish speaking world, we headed east into Arizona and were greeted by the increasingly present signs of modern America: neon lights and big-box stores. We dodged these obstacles as best we could, and stumbled upon a collection of signs and evidence from an earlier time. Painted Rocks Petroglyph Site. Where the rocks are littered with drawings. Part II : People.

3 Brasingtons & A Van: December 2010
http://3brasingtonsandvan.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 26, 2010. We've been hearing how cold and snowy it's been at home lately. We hear it was even a white Christmas! Sounds like this year will be a repeat of last year's never-ending winter, which is exactly what we are trying to avoid. It's summertime down here - literally! The schools here just finished for the year, and the kids are now on their 3 month summer vacation. Summer also corresponds to the dry season down here, when the rain stops for a few months and it gets HOT! We were invi...

3 Brasingtons & A Van: November 2010

Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Palm Springs and Palm Springs. After 5 days in the natural beauty of Joshua Tree National Park, we decided to fully immerse ourselves in the opposite extreme of desert life: we headed into Palm Springs, CA. We passed giant fields of windmills which provide some electricity to Palm Springs and surrounding desert cities. We didn't do any gambling during our brief stay, but we did enjoy a nice soak in their huge hot tubs, which are fed by natural underground hot springs. We spe...

Saturday, February 26, 2011. Baja, More Than Just Whales. Warning: this post is long and rambling with no focused direction; kind of like our road-trip.). Although our whale adventure was the reason we came to Baja, we have thoroughly enjoyed many other aspects of this part of Mexico. We've spent a total of 2 weeks exploring this peninsula, and it's been so nice to use the Spanish that we learned in Costa Rica. Everyone here has been very friendly, and we've made several new friends. Here's George snorke...

3 Brasingtons & A Van: May 2010
http://3brasingtonsandvan.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 28, 2010. Well, it's one week till our departure. We nearly have all of our ducks in a row. Just a few stragglers left. The big question for me is "Can I fit all the stuff I need for a year in this one little cubby? Evidently there's a pool going to see how long we'll actually stay on the road. Place your bets now! I hear DZ has the low bet of 14 days. I hope he doesn't win. Thanks a bunch to Stephanie for helping me set up this blog! The woman has skills! 3 Brasingtons and A Van.

Saturday, July 31, 2010. Fun with Friends in Lander, WY. Today we took a beautiful hike up into Sinks Canyon to a great rock slide. What fun! We even found a smaller rock slide up river that was just the right size for Adalaya. Here we are on the big slide. Thank you Annie and Jarred (and Butter Bean) for showing us such a good time! We wish you all the best in Lander, but we'll miss you in Celo! 3 Brasingtons and A Van. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Black Hills, SD. The entire pool bottom was covered with ri...
