I almost died asphyxiated by my own body. I’m extremely allergic to milk, and a person that ate a chocolate cake drank water on the cup I was using. Needless to say I had a glottic edema, which basically closes your throat and makes you completely unable to breath, and had to go to the hospital immediately, and stayed there the entire day. I almost slipped away. We had plans to go out with friends who run a local bar. I couldn’t get a ride or taxi so I decided to just stay home and have a couple drinks. I had 3 mixed drinks - a shot in each. Hadn’t eaten since a nice breakfast - wasn’t hungry. I thought of my two children who were at home. I thought of how their night would go if I died.
