http://mrsmicawber.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 29, 2014. Rocky Mountain Sunset Hat and Cowl. Isn't that a delightful name? Chosen by the Love of Crochet. Team, it's perfect for this cozy duo. Stitched in a soft, deep aubergine yarn, accented with colour-changing stripes that shade from topaz to bright rose to subtle amethyst. Photo courtesy of Love of Crochet. The set was made with Classic Elite Yarns Liberty Wool, a smooth, light worsted with a soft hand and beautiful drape. And the Invisible Join. Posted by Mrs. Micawber. I've seen A...

Mr. Micawber's Recipe for Happiness: A Week of Rides

http://mrsmicawber.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-week-of-rides.html

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. A Week of Rides. Saturday Morning (on which Mr. M and I participate in a small MS benefit ride). It's a treat for me to be riding with Mr. M today. Once a serious cyclist, he's spent years battling the after-effects of a brain tumor and, later, a pulmonary embolism, which together have made riding very difficult. The effects have not gone away, but he has worked hard to get back on the bike and slowly build up his mileage. Might call "bucolic". ;). Getting ready to take off for t...

Mr. Micawber's Recipe for Happiness: Pardon me, but your Slip Stitch is Showing ~ An Invisible Join Tutorial

http://mrsmicawber.blogspot.com/2012/06/pardon-me-but-your-slip-stitch-is.html

Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Pardon me, but your Slip Stitch is Showing An Invisible Join Tutorial. Join with sl st. Cut yarn and weave in ends.". A handy little stitch, the slip stitch - but when used to finish the final round of a motif or project, it can skew the edge just a little bit out of shape. How does this happen? Well, in the normal course of things, one crochet stitch flows into the next, with nary a break between 'em. The joining slip stitch, however, inserts. Yes, there is! Insert hook from back.

Mr. Micawber's Recipe for Happiness: Forward Loop Chain: an Alternative to Standard Chain Stitch (with Limpet Variations and Tutorial)

http://mrsmicawber.blogspot.com/2013/10/forward-loop-chain-alternative-to.html

Friday, October 11, 2013. Forward Loop Chain: an Alternative to Standard Chain Stitch (with Limpet Variations and Tutorial). First of all, a grateful acknowledgement to the incredibly inventive and generous Vashti Braha, whose newsletter and blog posts sparked the idea for this stitch.*. Ch 200." (Or 62, or 135, or whatever the pattern calls for.) These are the words that strike dread into the heart of all but the most intrepid crocheters. For an example of the first, and my Summery Cowl. Mr. Micawber's Recipe for Happiness: Queen Anne's Lace Crochet Scarf Tutorial (with pattern modifications)

http://mrsmicawber.blogspot.com/2011/03/queen-annes-lace-crochet-scarf-tutorial.html

Saturday, March 19, 2011. Queen Anne's Lace Crochet Scarf Tutorial (with pattern modifications). This is a great scarf pattern (thank you, 1craftyboy. And all you Ravellers out there who have made it and shared it). It works up quickly and beautifully in all kinds of yarns. The only thing I don't like:. Modified pattern with matching ends. But first, a word from our blogger: Why, oh why, don't crochet magazines and websites CHART. Mrs Micawber's Modified Queen Anne's Lace Scarf. Now that I've got that of...

http://sweetbirdylove.blogspot.com/2014/08/hellooooo.html

Thursday, August 7, 2014. It's 5am and I'm awake, what else would you do but get up and do a blog post? I've cranked the heater, made a Milo and got a box of tissues by my side.someone has shared their cold with me.:(. I was thinking I'd get another blog post in before July ended and then realised we were well into August.so my brain's in a bit of a fog at the moment. I've been having fun playing around with some ideas and stitchy techniques. Gotta love Pansies and Violas and their sweet, little faces.

Moonflower Ink: May 2010

http://moonflowerink.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Once upon a time. There was an orange. The orange rolled across the grass. Until it bumped into an orange tree. Then it stopped and did nothing. Because it was an orange. The orange flew through the air. And kissed a different orange hanging on the orange tree. The oranges spun and. Sailed into a rose bush. Then the orange and orangette. Sat by each other until the end of time. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. This orange looks like a pear." he said, as he sat down and ate two. Is licensed...

my creations: February 2013

http://mycreations-beth.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 7, 2013. I like to knit. I am not fast. I am not an expert. But I like it. I find it sort of zen most of the time. I used to crochet all the time, but stopped when a Dr. told me the motion was making my neck worse. Using my arm at all makes my neck worse so I am going to crochet again. In moderation. BTW on the same block where I found the yarn shop there was a bead shop and a quilt shop.heaven) . I am working on some Christmas gifts too. Maybe I will get them done before December.

Apple Blossom Dreams: 4:41 Challenged

http://www.appleblossomdreams.com/2013/02/441-challenged.html

Monday, February 25, 2013. Remember that challenge I threw out there from this post. I challenged anyone to beat my time making a rose. Lickity-split an adorable and talented young lady took me up on the challenge. Here is a picture of the rather bedraggled-looking rose from my best time. I closed up the center hole after I had stopped timing myself so it would look better for the picture. Claire (The Cogaroo) ". I'm not sure anyone can beat her time! A package full of surprises will be. Ok Astri, I have...

Krazy Momma Kreations

http://krazymommakreations.blogspot.com/2015/11/hello-again-it-has-been-quite-some-time.html

Thursday, 5 November 2015. It has been quite some time since I blogged. I just could not find the time to do it, but I recently got some inspiration to start it up again when my son asked me to help him make a blog. It's about monsters and aliens (his new obsession). If you would like to check it out here's a link: http:/ themonstergroup.blogspot.ca/. I'm starting to make a list with the lovely people in my life I'd like to bless with some love. And stressing over the little time I have to make it all.

Titchystitches: Oh boo

http://titchystitches.blogspot.com/2012/02/oh-boo.html

Wednesday, 15 February 2012. Ok, I'm really not very good about this whole blogging thing but I'm trying.I'm REALLY trying. Anyway, remember my goals. Number one was, "Make at least one thing for each holiday (Valentine's day, Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas)." Well, guess what? I didn't make anything for Valentines day. UGH! I wanted to make this scarf. Or a decoration made of these awesome hearts. Or even some simple heart garland. I bought a card. I'm so ashamed! Anyway...
