Mrs. Schmidt's Sharing

Friday, May 28, 2010. May 28, 2010. We have had a very busy week with the end-of-the year activities and practicing for our last day of school performance. On Wednesday we tie-dyed tee shirts that we would like the children to wear on Wednesday, June 2nd, for our Make Your Own Sundae picnic. On Thursday we celebrated summer birthdays with bubbles, hula-hoops, ribbons, and popsicles. It was a delightful day. With a grateful heart,. My dearest Lincoln families,. I will miss them. With much love,. The stude...

http://mrsschmidtssharing.blogspot.com/2010/05/may-14-2010.html

Friday, May 14, 2010. May 14, 2010. The children continue to be busy working in our Handwriting Without Tears workbooks and daily writing in our journals. We are reading our Open Court decodable book and are presently on Book 19 entitled The Quilt. We are almost finished with the series. We have also been busy assessing the children for the third trimester report cards, which will come home the last week of school. Throughout the year we have been saving pieces of your child’s art work. The art...On Wedn...

Friday, March 26, 2010. March 26, 2010. We had another busy week enjoying our Spring Fling theme. After reading Make Way For Ducklings, by Robert McCloskey, the children had the opportunity to sequence the story. The Make Way For Ducklings story is set in Boston. There is a statue of the mother duck and the eight little ducklings placed in the Public Garden in honor of the book. On Wednesday, we were so lucky to have Aaron Reynolds come to Lincoln! We also completed egg patterns to continue the spring th...

Friday, February 26, 2010. February 26, 2010. The children also constructed an art project with the nursery rhyme “Old Mother Hubbard.” These projects will be included in their poetry books. Homework ideas remain the same for one more week. Don’t forget to send back the form in regard to the Kindergarten Night Out with Mr. Perryman, our music teacher. It will be a fun night of dance and movement. Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, March 1, due to Casimir Pulaski Day. February 19, 2009.

Friday, December 18, 2009. December 18, 2009. We were so proud of our Lincoln kindergarteners performance at the Holiday Sing! The children had worked so hard at making this a very special and memorable experience. We appreciate your wonderful support, encouragement and participation. We also extend a big thank you to Mr. Perryman for providing the gifts of music and song to our children! The Guideposts for Everyday Math for January include:. 1 Write the numbers from 0-10. 2 Count forward from 0-70.

Friday, May 21, 2010. May 21, 2010. The students are all excited that they have completed the entire set of decodable books this week. We reinforced our sight word knowledge as each child made a sight word bingo card writing one word from the list in each box. Afterwards, the students practice reading the sight words as we played the game. We encourage the students to use the sight words and spell them correctly as they write in their journals each day. We are finishing up our assessments and getting rea...

Mrs Schmidt B4's Blog. Sharing of our classroom Skype calls. Posted by Tina Schmidt in Uncategorized. I discovered Skype and the possibility of linking my classroom with others around the country on a snowy day in February. In the 3 1/2 months between that day and the end of our school year, my 3rd grade students and I Skyped with 17 different states, 3 countries, and 3 times with authors. It was an incredible learning experience for both myself and the students! Sointula, British Columbia, Canada. What ...

The Adventures of Mrs. Schmoopie

The Adventures of Mrs. Schmoopie. A little blog about the comings and goings of Mrs. Schmoopie. Thursday, June 24, 2010. I guess that means I'm not always filled with those things and I should be. Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Maddie has decided she wants to ditch her bubblegum pink room for something more hip and stylish. Teal seems to be the common theme, so in an effort to try to wrap myself around something artsy for her, I made this. What do you think? Thursday, May 6, 2010. Boo graduated from kindergar...
