Tuesday, September 6. Building a class family. These turned out so adorable. Such a good reminder for what behavior is appropriate for the classroom. Now that we have a classroom family built on respect we can have fun doing whole group lessons like this science experiment Deanna Jump. Posted about. Love this activity! Im switching to K from sixth grade next year. I started teaching in K, but it was about 12 years ago! Thank you for these ideas, you give me hope that Ill be able to pull this off well!

Tuesday, September 11. The first two weeks of school. The first two weeks of school of been exhausting and busy. We have been busy busy learning all our brand new routines and procedures. My class is so sweet and already have me laughing. Here is a look at what we have been up to. We had fun with with our names. We counted the letters in our name. We read A my name is Alice and made this cute craft from Deanna Jump's fun with names math and literacy unit. We rainbow dotted our names with bingo markers.

Tuesday, May 5. I just made my countdown to summer. We have 16 days left until summer fun! I am amazed every year how fast it goes. In April I taught my weather unit. We made a tornado in a bottle! All you need is a tornado tube like this one. From Amazon. I also added a couple of drops of food coloring and glitter. The kids got to create a vortex by twirling and swirling the bottle. I'm sad to see it end but I'm also so excited to meet my new little kindergartners! Here we go again . . . I read Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer. This book definitely has one of the strangest titles I've ever seen, but it is such a good story! When I first started reading it, I assumed it was realistic fiction.but it's not! It has a tiny bit of fantasy - so I think it would be considered Magical Realism. Kind of like All the Answers.
