Musings About Books and Teaching. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer. I finished my first Summer Book-a-Day today! I read Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer. This book definitely has one of the strangest titles I've ever seen, but it is such a good story! When I first started reading it, I assumed it was realistic fiction.but it's not! It has a tiny bit of fantasy - so I think it would be considered Magical Realism. Kind of like All the Answers.

By Kate DiCamillo. As soon as I finished I thought, "This is a book I have to blog about.". The place to start with this book is literally the first page of Chapter One. I just can't get enough of Flora in this book.I am obsessed with the voice Kate DiCamillo has chosen to use. See what I mean? So begins the story.
