News from Korea and around the world. Wednesday, 26 February 2014. Lily teacher and I were born exactly 1 day apart, and we didn't know it until the last minute! So we went out for dinner after school last Tuesday to celebrate at one of my (and Stella's) favourite places here near Yangji. Monday, 17 February 2014. It's graduation week. It's been emotionl, as these things are. Last week, we had the annual concert and watching all the kids in action was super fun and entertaining! Andy - Sweet and innocent.

It is little things like this that make me love my school and where we live, and what helped me to make the decision to extend our contract for one more year. Saturday, July 30, 2011. The weather has been mizzy this week, to say the least. We didn't get any of the lovely snow though; all we got was dry sunshine and a bitterly cold, mighty strong wind. Boo - we couldn't go outside at all, and had to stay inside all day. Luckily Stella got a very cool play mat from Meaks, and it kept her entertained for hours. Thursday, May 31, 2012. I finally got the photos from Stella's 1st birthday party back. It was quite a formal occasion, much different to the kind of party we would have had in South Africa, but loads of fun none-the-less. And most importantly, Stella had a ball. She enjoyed all the fuss and wore her traditional Hanbok with pride ;). The party table, decorated with traditional treats and trinkets. A few with family. Adoring uncle Neungmyeong and grandpa. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. A couple of weekends ago, SY's brother came to stay with us, and we spent the weekend as many Koreans customarily do - watching sport! First was baseball on the Saturday. It was my first baseball game, and although I still don't understand the sport, I enjoyed being in the stadium and the crowd was great! Stella also enjoyed everything else that was going on. The baseball ;). We sat with the 'away' crowd, but you would never have said so - they were LOUD! It's a New Year .

Wednesday, 11 December 2013. Shopping for a tree. Mince pies and hot chocolate at the fire. The boys loved their personal video messages from Santa via Portable North Pole. Danny was especially intrigued and has watched his video over and over again. Sometimes even engaging in a dialogue with Santa and his elves to make sure that they know that we will be in South Africa for Christmas. This is such a special age for things like this!
