Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Today we were lucky enough to witness the. At school. As it was so sunny it was perfect to see the shadow of the moon gradually blocking the sun. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Today we had our Year 3-6 Christmas Concert, marking the end of the year. We looked fab in our festive outfits and sang beautifully- we also had Sophia. This term we have been learning about Ancient Greece, and have been studying myths, the Gods, the Ancient Olympics, home life at the time and what the Ancient Greeks ate and wore. Yesterday Year 3 and 4 all finished off our Inquiry Unit by having a Greek feast- we dressed up in 'Ancient Greek' clothing and brought in some Greek food for our feast. We had olives, grapes, feta and other cheese, pita bread and Greek yoghurt, honey, baklava and 'tsoureki',. World Vision New Zealand.

Thursday, February 23, 2012. This week we had our second football. Session. We are learning to control the ball by keeping it close when dribbling, and lots of other foot skills. Saturday, November 10, 2012. This week was a busy sporting week with Athletics. On Monday and cricket. With Cricket Wellington on Friday. On Monday we did sprints, shot put, quoits, high jump, long jump and vortex. Events, followed by house and class relay races. We were so lucky with the weather and had a great day. Monday, May 28, 2012. Whales in the playground! This term's inquiry topic is The Wonder of Whales. And we have been looking at types of whales and their food chain. Today we talked about migration. And how they move with the seasons. How can they live in such cold water? The answer. BLUBBER! We also went outside and in small groups drew chalk whales in the playground - a Blue Whale at 30m long, Orcas at 8-10m long, a Humpback Whale at 16m and a Sperm Whale at 18m.AMAZING! Thursday, September 4, 2008. End of an Era. Well, newsletters went out today to inform parents in Room 6 that I will be leaving at the end of the term. This is a sad time for me but also an exciting time with a promotion at a new school in Palmerston North. The children have been told that Gael Hickson will be teaching in Room 6 next term.
