A note was attached explaining that he had commissioned this playset to be built for them, but they would need to wait until spring for the life size version. The boys didn't forget. And neither did Santa. Our very generous and talented friend, Matt, took my vague sketch of an idea and turned it into this. And how cool that Uncle Matt knew Santa.

I really wanted new artwork for our dining room, but couldn't find anything unique within budget (which was pretty much non-existent. Billy literally laughed when I asked him what our budget for artwork should be). We do own one piece of legit, fancy art. An original Diana Hsu watercolor framed behind archival glass. Friday, February 13, 2015. Max McAlister 5 years. I have a five year old. FIVEthat sounds so weird. Five is officially a "kid". I have watched Max grow from an infant to a toddler to a preschooler, and now when he snuggles up next to me on the couch, I can barely believe he was ever the tiny babe I see in photographs. When he was a baby I used to study his small features and try to imagine how they would transform over the years. I remember wondering.will his eyes stay blue? Happy 5th Birthday, my love.
