Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: September 2011
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Sunday, September 11, 2011. The world of small things - fun with macro photography. After attending the Canon basic photography workshop yesterday, was raring to have a go with the camera today. A lazy afternoon, with M away and I was looking for things to photograph. Stepping out was ruled out - didn't want to take that chance on the 10th day of Ganapati, what with visarjan crowds thronging the streets! Repeated the same half-half composition here, with a side view. T...

Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: December 2008
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Sunday, December 14, 2008. I have taken trains to and from CST everyday, for more than an year. I have had business meetings in every restaurant, meeting room and even the lobbies of the Oberoi and the Trident. I have been to several luncheons, parties and conferences at the Taj. I have also been lucky that none of those days was 26 November 2008. Have taken over. That is my shame. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Musing Of An Empty Mind.

Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: September 2009
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Thursday, September 10, 2009. An amazing song from a Suresh Heblikar movie, with Lokesh in the lead. I think the movie was ಅಪರಚಿತ (. Meaning stranger). Fabulous lyrics. the last paragraph is simply phenomenal. The lyrics in kannada (you can't beat the original) followed by the english translation. The song describes the sunset. Its red, its all red. Tha blue sky like ...

Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: April 2010
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Sir, is there a problem sir? A flyer for Pizza Caprina, a home delivery pizzeria drifted in with the morning's newspaper. Since the quality of pizzas at the more popular joints is steadily declining, we decided to give it a shot. After all, it can't be much worse than D or P, we thought. We called in our order and 35 minutes later, a puffing and panting delivery boy handed in our order. Hello, Pizza Caprina? Sir, can you give me your name sir? Work ...

Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: February 2012
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Sunday, February 05, 2012. Rajasthan Day 2: Jaisalmer - golden sands and blue skies. What a way to get introduced to the city of golden sands! As the train chugged into the desert, a couple of dust storms greeted us - filling the interiors of the bogie with a dust haze! In no time, there was a thin layer of sand everywhere: on the floor, the seats, on the luggage, and even on the late risers blissfully asleep! Laid out a spread of the finest Rajasthani food. There was ...

Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: December 2011
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Sunday, December 25, 2011. Rajasthan - beginning of a memorable vaction. It all started with figuring out vacation ideas; considering that we would be travelling in December, colder climes were naturally ruled out. M had been wanting to do Rajasthan for a while, so we decided that the land of golden sands it would be, since anytime after March and the place would be scorching. For details on the planning bit, do's and don'ts, refer to M's blog. This is also the city of bea...

Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain: October 2011
http://ramansharaph.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Arbit Musings of an Idle Brain. Sunday, October 30, 2011. Got this excellent shot of M, probably my best portrait shot to date and certainly the slowest shot without tripod that I have taken. Yes, this is a half second exposure shot with bare hands, no tripod, no monopod, no support of any sort for the camera! First the shot and then the story behind the shot. Lens: Canon IS 18-55 IS. Focal length: 35 mm. The ever willing M ofcourse! That explains the soft focus, which actually is good for portraits!
