The Bret 'n Laura Family Blog: December 2009
http://bretnlaura.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
The Bret 'n Laura Family Blog. Thursday, December 24, 2009. We have been having fun celebrating the holidays. The kids can't wait until tomorrow! The kids on the way up the hill. I had to sacrifice myself to get these pictures! I went ahead so I could get some pictures about half way down. I was going so fast that the only way I could stop was to steer myself into the snow bank! The sledders starting to come down the hill. Sharee, James, Charlie and Rosie. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. We had a wonderful...

The Bret 'n Laura Family Blog. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Bret and I were blessed to be Ma and Pa to an awesome group of kids on our Stake Pioneer Trek. We were gone 4 days and walked about 30 miles. We missed Max and Maddie a lot but they were well taken care of (Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Nicholson and Jodi and Neil). This is our family at the beginning of Trek. We had 9 kids and a flour sack baby. This is the Women's Pull, we had to pull the handcart up a big hill without the boys to help. While I am ...

The Bret 'n Laura Family Blog. Saturday, October 17, 2009. When the Cows Come Home. We went down to Manti for conference weekend. We went hiking in Maple Canyon (I will post pictures of our hike when I get some that my Mom took), played games, picked a lot of plums, spent time with family, watched conference and last, but not least saw the cows come home. We had to wake up bright and early. Maddie sat on Bret's shoulders and watched the cows come around the corner. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Maddie is o...

The Bret 'n Laura Family Blog. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. First Camping Trip of the Year. In arches we hiked to Delicate Arch. It is a fun hike because you get to climb up a huge rock and you feel like you are in a waste land and then you come upon the Arch and it is beautiful. The kids loved to watch for lizards and follow the cairns (stacks of rocks to show you where the trail is), Max even started some if his own. Maddie ready to hike. They found a lizard. Our first view of Delicate Arch. He loves to pl...

Thursday, October 02, 2008. The perils of adventures. One should not be adventurous. I think we need to take greater care. These were the words of Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit, on the death of television journalist Soumya Vishwanathan. While she also did express sorrow, instead of using this as an opportunity to crack down on the pathetic law and order situation in the Capital, she merely admitted that Delhi was indeed an unsafe city. Which again reminds me of the maxim I recently came across -.

Kaleidoscope of Images | Musings, Fashion, Mood swings and Tittle Tattle!
Musings, Fashion, Mood swings and Tittle Tattle! Happy Holi (belated… Like they say, better late than never). 8216;Feeling Spring-Forward’. The phrase ‘paint it red’ some how feels apt today…. I sit today somehow not missing the flavor and exuberance of one of the festivities I celebrated in my homeland. It gives me reason enough to express the feeling in my own way. To more such festivities, color and peppiness…. I wish everyone a lot of joy, happiness and health. Of new memories and old bonds. 8216;Lov...
Morning Musings | Devotional Thoughts in Following Christ
Devotional Thoughts in Following Christ. November 8, 2016. November 8, 2016. There is a trend that I’ve noticed a little more recently than I had ever noticed before. I don’t know what to call it, other than “Christian Satanism”… Essentially, it’s when Christians speak, think, or act in a manner that gives homage to Satan, as if he has any legitimate credence what-so-ever. How about I give a few examples, first more popular, and then from there some of the more fanatic things…. Let me spell it out for you.

Musings from Mrs. Galvan
Musings from Mrs. Galvan. I am blogging my thoughts on teaching math and on promoting social, emotional wellness among my students and colleagues. I am a fan of having students create digital portfolios in math, and I am blogging about what I am learning along the way. What I'm up to. Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Revamping Student Blogging in Math. My algebra and geometry students have been creating digital portfolios. My theory was that blogger would be the house for my students' reflections. In additio...
Talkin' to Myself
A Blog about my days. Saturday, November 11, 2017. I met the guy in the front row of this picture in 1990. He was a retired Marine aviator. He retired as a "full bird colonel". He was sitting in a plastic chair in a hospital room visiting his very ill wife. He had his legs crossed and his arms crossed over his chest. The body language alone told me to be VERY careful with this guy. This time she was on a ventilator and could not speak. But the men in the room kept asking her open ended questions! It was ...

Musings about life with 3 kids, writing, books, travel, food and pretty much anything else. From Thirties to Forties. February 13, 2014. Birthdays can be a time to reflect and look forward, to evaluate the choices we make and the life we are living. This is especially true of the decade markers. With my fortieth birthday tomorrow, I am determined not to be down about getting older. Instead I want to look forward to what the next […]. At the parenting coalface. Was that writer’s block? hamishandbethsmumma's Blog | One mumma's musings on motherhood & life
One mumma's musings on motherhood and life. Being mumma enough… It’s more than just a “healthy baby”. As a mumma who grieves her births and a mumma who frequently discusses birth I often hear the phrase “but you have a healthy baby”. I know that when it is said it is usually from a place of genuine good intention. I know that the person saying it means well. I know that what that person has said is true. The world needs to realise that the bouncing healthy beautiful baby nestled in her breast may in fact...
