Edmonton Marathon 2012 – Robert's Running Blog

http://runningblog.info/2012/08/20/edmonton-marathon-2012

August 20, 2012. August 20, 2012. Well, Edmonton Marathon 2012 turned out to not be the day I had hoped it would be. In several ways. The gist of it is that I did not finish, but let’s step back a bit first. I heard the national anthem being sung, as I threw my car keys under some rubble, some 300 meters from the start, and then arrived at the start with about 20 seconds to spare. Or was it 10 seconds? So endeth the Edmonton Marathon for 2012 for Mr. Renman! Haha – I just laugh it, in hindsight!

K-100 Relay 2012 – Robert's Running Blog

http://runningblog.info/2012/06/26/k-100-2012

June 26, 2012. June 26, 2012. Leg 5 is Hard. It’s not a walk in the park. Check out the details:. 05 km south of Mist Creek at the Pickle Jar Recreation Area. FASTEST RECORDED TIME IN 2006:. This year, the relay had plenty of rain. I stayed with my friends in a hotel and Calgary the night before. I have to say I am glad I didn’t camp in Longview, like we usually do. It was pretty wet there! Two of my friends ran for Red Deer Alumni, and they started at 6am. At that time, there was a bit of rain for t...

Grizzly 50 km Ultra Marathon 2012. October 7, 2012. October 14, 2012. Well, I did it! Finished my first 50 km ultra marathon, and placed 4th overall. It was a fun race, although I got pretty baked by the end of it. This was the first year for the Grizzly 50 km Ultra Marathon, and you can either do it as a 5-person relay, or solo. There were over 800 runners participating. Some relay team runners took off very fast. I stuck with a group of guys that looked older and slower, haha! Now I was officially VERY...

The Blue Mile Race Edmonton 2012. May 25, 2012. May 28, 2012. Uh oh Missed the start! I ran the fun run mile first with my 8-year old daughter. Soon thereafter, the open Blue Mile race would start, but I thought I had time to go to the bathroom first. Apparently not! I came out of the porta-potty, ran quick towards the start and hear the gun go off… and the runners coming towards me. The “funny” thing is that both Chris AND Tom ALSO missed the start! Yes, of course! Be Sociable, Share! Canada Day 15K Edm...

Calgary Marathon 2012 Weekend. May 27, 2012. May 28, 2012. A cold morning, but perfect for running! It was plus 1 degree Celsius at 5:30 in the morning. It wasn’t so cold once we got running, however. My friend Gerhard ran a solid race, just under 44 minutes. The half-marathon was won by Kip Kangogo in 1:07:14, and my friend Andy Pohl had an excellent race, placing 4th overall with 1:13:02. My pal Marty Robertson won the Masters category in the half with 1:17:23. Be Sociable, Share! How To Make Coffee.

Canada Day 15K Edmonton 2012 – Robert's Running Blog

http://runningblog.info/2012/07/01/canada-day-15k-edmonton-2012

Canada Day 15K Edmonton 2012. July 1, 2012. July 3, 2012. The Canada Day 15K in Edmonton is one of my favourite races. Last year, I somehow managed to win the race. This year, I was in “in the running” so to speak, until that last ugly hill. After that first steep downhill, I was expecting the young and fast guys to whip up a hard pace. That didn’t seem to happen. By 2 km, we were a bit over 7 minutes, and lots of runners in a big group. And super attentive to what the other guys are doing. Sinister 7 is...

4 x 1600 is a great workout – Robert's Running Blog

http://runningblog.info/2012/06/13/4-x-1600-is-a-great-workout

4 x 1600 is a great workout. June 13, 2012. I did my third 4 x 1600 of the season tonight. It was warm, 21 degrees, and minimal wind. I really like this workout. It can be painful and make me want to quite half-way through it, but somehow, I always seem to finish this workout well. Tonight, I had my fastest 4 x 1600 in quite some time. Splits: 5:11, 5:13, 5:12, 5:12 – all with a 400 meter jog in 2 minutes. Be Sociable, Share! Calgary Marathon 2012 Weekend. Devil’s 5K Donovan Bailey Invitational. Fast Tra...

Devil’s 5K Donovan Bailey Invitational. June 16, 2012. June 29, 2012. My 8 year-old daughter and I went to see the Donovan Bailey Invitational track meet in Edmonton on June 16. Some of my friends were there, so they offered to look after the girl while I checked if they needed another runner for the Devil’s 5,000 meter race. Turns out I was in, just like that! I am the guy in the blue t-shirt, almost always last! Watch more video of 2012 Donovan Bailey Invitational, NTL #3 on flotrack.org.

Musings of A Mason | Thoughts and Perceptions While Building Life

Musings of A Mason. Thoughts and Perceptions While Building Life. November 16, 2016. Progress. Thus, I will only be discussing the present (and therefore more realistically considered) goals that I (would like to) see myself working towards. As expressed in Torah thought and psychotherapy across the spectrum, any goal that is person-based (that is, focused on behavior, thought process, and/or character traits) is never truly finished and always needs upkeep to maintain the new given ideal or change.

Musings of a Medical Spouse. Monday, February 15, 2010. Many people don't realize that medical school is only traditional schooling the first two years of it. The third and fourth years consist of doing rotations (or small internships in the main areas of medicine) and flying all over the country to interview for residencies. So - we had the big day last week that would decide our next two years (finally! And now it is even more in the air! I can seriously relate to another medical spouse blogger's anxie...
